Review From A Batman Fanatic
20 August 2024
Warning: Spoilers
When I heard The Caped Crusader was being created with Bruce Timm onboard, I got super excited. Was I expecting The Animated Series before watching? No, absolutely not. I went in with an open mind and wasn't disappointed watching this altered version of Batman starting out and the well-known characters, including some new ones, associated with him.

I love the same stylish old school animation from the original series was used here. This type of animation has always been pleasing to my eyes. The stories were decent, but there are some better than others. My favourite episodes were the ones with Catwoman and Harley. I truly believe this generation of voice actors did a solid job with their characters. It was refreshing to see a different perspective on the same characters I've come to love and adore over the years, while not straying too far from their original backstories. Though, new backstories are always welcomed, IF they are handled properly and tastefully, like for instants, switching The Peguin to a woman. I won't deny it was a little weird but again, it was a fresh new take on a villain I have seen portrayed the same way everytime. Harley Quinn was another adjustment but, I really liked the new interpretation and costume.

I'm happy to see a season two coming in 2025 and that The Joker will be in it this time. I'm looking forward to future seasons. I thoroughly enjoyed watching this new take on my all-time favourite superhero.
