François Chau was born on 26 October 1959 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. He is an actor, known for The Penguin (2024), Barry (2018) and Avatar: The Last Airbender (2024).

Haing S. Ngor was a native of Cambodia. Before the war, he was a physician & medical officer in the Cambodian army. He became a captive of the Khmer Rouge. He was imprisoned & tortured. In order to escape execution, he denied being a doctor or having an education. He moved to the U.S. as a refugee in 1980. Though he had no formal acting experience, he was chosen to portray photographer Dith Pran in The Killing Fields (1984) & won an Academy Award. Pol Pot was a Cambodian revolutionary, dictator, and politician who ruled Cambodia as Prime Minister of Democratic Kampuchea between 1976 and 1979. Ideologically a Marxist-Leninist and a Khmer nationalist, he was a leading member of Cambodia's communist movement, the Khmer Rouge, from 1963 until 1997 and served as the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Kampuchea from 1963 to 1981. Under his administration, Cambodia was converted into a one-party communist state and perpetrated the Cambodian genocide.

Rithy Panh was born in Phnom Penh, Cambodia on 18 April, 1964. He is today one of the most acclaimed documentary filmmakers and the most famous Cambodian filmmaker worldwide. After 1975 his family died through the genocidal Khmer Rouge government (1975-1979) while he could escape in 1979 to Thailand. Panh arrived a year later in Paris, France as an orphan and stayed. Rithy Panh later studied at 'La Fémis', the French National Cinema School. In 1989, Site 2 (1989), his first documentary about Cambodian refugees, won several international awards. Since then Panh created a unique body of work consisting of documentaries and feature films that mostly deal with the modern Cambodia and the traumatic legacy of the Khmer Rouge regime. His most famous documentary is probably S21: The Khmer Rouge Killing Machine (2003) about the infamous torture prison of the Khmer Rouge. Later his avant-garde documentary The Missing Picture (2013) became the first Cambodian film nominated for an Academy Award as 'Best Foreign Language Film'. Rithy Panh, along with director Ieu Pannakar, has developed 'Bophana: Audio Visual Resource Center - Cambodia', with an aim towards preserving the country's film, photographic and audio history. Rithy Panh received an honorary doctorate in 2011 by the University of Paris-VIII and published in 2012 his acclaimed autobiography "L'Élimination". In 2014 he received the 'Preservation and Scholarship' Award of the International Documentary Association (IDA).

Nuon Molin is a screenwriter who was born on 26,July,1993 at Chbar Morn, Kampong Speu Province Cambodia. Since 2016, he has been working in the film industry. He has written many screenplays for feature films, web series and TV series, and short films that have already screened in cinemas and digitally. Now he is the head of the writer department at LD Entertainment co.,ltd, one of the biggest film production companies in Cambodia.

Sokpoly Voeun AKA "POLY" (born 11 July 1990) is a Cambodian director, screenwriter and documentary filmmaker, horror and action thriller.

His birth name is "Kim Poly". He has two fathers; his stepfather's name "Bona Samrith", his mother's name "Channa Touch" and his biological father's name "Polin Kim", who left him in 1991 after he was one year old. A year later, his mother married his stepfather in 1992.

In 2008, while deciding to graduate from primary school due to the family crisis, POLY became interested in the art of photography and decided to buy his first camera without knowing the exact shooting techniques. Two or three years later, because there was no goal and no guide, POLY decided to give up his dream and look for a job as a normal person. However, because he loves the art of photography and film. POLY also returns to researching the art of filmmaking through the internet and various workshops, as well as activities with a team of filmmakers in the film industry. POLY also got a lot of experience from it. However, there is still no recognition because POLY is not a student from a film school or has a degree from any film institution. Five years later, POLY was given the opportunity to release his first photography and video artworks, but the artworks were not recognized and used. Many years later, POLY struggled to find supporters and collaborations to produce several short films on its own and without any funding. Some of his films were successfully produced, such as "My Tasks 2023", but the main parts were cut off due to lack of funds, some were already produced but were canceled (Lullabox 2022) and some were not getting any support or off got produced "One Day I'll Fly 2023".

Until 2024, POLY has successfully recruited film students, filmmaking lovers and their friends who are metal music artists to participate in the production of "Metal Strings 2024" without budgets and special gear.

Norodom Sihanouk born October 31, 1922 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, was a director, writer and composer, Prince Norodom Sihanouk was appointed the King of Cambodia in 1941, when he was merely nineteen years. He remained the ruler of the nation for fourteen years, from 1941 to 1955 and again from 1993 to 2004, interspersed with brief but frequent spells as Prime Minister. Sihanouk was enthusiastic about the trends and glamour of the western world. He introduced "The Twist" in Cambodia in 1960 and became a record producer of Cambodian pop and rock'n roll music. These new cultural expressions upset some groups. Sihanouk banished this opposition to his pop concept from the capital Phnom Penh. Part of the resistance eventually created the movement Khmer Rouge. In 1965 Norodom Sihanouk expanded his modern idea of Cambodia to include film. He wrote, directed, produced and appeared in documentaries and feature films for five years. He resumed filming in North Korea in 1988. Sihanouk's last film, "Le Cid Khmer", was released in Cambodia 2005. Over the years, Prince/King/Prime Minister Norodom Sihanouk resided in, apart from Cambodia, in the People's Republic of China and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. He died of a heart attack on October 15, 2012, in Beijing, China.

Tiger Reth is a Cambodian martial artist, Actor and Stunt man. He was born on August 09, 1998 , in Ample Village, Leay Bo Commune, Tram Kak District, Takeo Province, Cambodia. Tiger watched martial arts films as a young kid and began to emulate tiger studied martial arts at the local high school in Phnom Penh city.

Ros Sereysothea was a Cambodian singer. She was active during the final years of the Sangkum Reastr Niyum period and into the Khmer Republic period. She sang in a variety of genres; romantic ballads emerged as her most popular works. Despite a relatively brief career she is credited with singing hundreds of songs. She also ventured into acting, starring in a few films. Details of her life are relatively scarce. She disappeared during the Khmer Rouge regime of the late 1970s but the circumstances of her fate remain a mystery.

Tchee was born on 23 August 1953 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. He was an actor and writer, known for Les intrépides (1993), Commissaire Moulin (1976) and Le fils du Mékong (1992). He died on 26 May 2017 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

Sinn Sisamouth was an influential and highly prolific Cambodian singer-songwriter from the 1950s to the 1970s. Widely considered the "King of Khmer music," Sinn Sisamouth, along with Ros Serey Sothea, Pen Ran, Mao Sareth, and other Khmer artists, was part of a thriving pop music scene in Phnom Penh that blended elements of Khmer traditional music with the sounds of rhythm and blues and rock and roll to develop a Cambodian rock sound. Sisamouth died during the Khmer Rouge regime under circumstances that are unclear.

An award-winning director, he has been creating feature and short films, music videos, promotional works, commercials and more since 1995. His work has brought both national and international acclaim winning the San Diego Filmmaker Award at the San Diego Film Festival; Viewer's Choice Award at the Temecula Valley Film Festival for the powerful short, Residue; and, two Emmy awards for best short film and original score. He was an invited panelist for the A solo Art Film Festival in Italy on the topic of censored cinema in third world countries. Additionally, Nathaniel's presence is widely felt in his birth country of Cambodia, influencing film making there and remains a voice for positive change. Most recently, he contracted with US Military for VR development and 3D animation for the field. He co-founded 3rd Realm Creations specializing in Medical Virtual reality Training, VR live experiences and Virtual Productions.

Dith Pran was born on 23 September 1942 in Siem Reap, Cambodia. He is known for Omnibus (1967), Hier is... Adriaan van Dis (1983) and Primetime (1989). He died on 30 March 2008 in New Brunswick, New Jersey, USA.

Boramy Tioulong was born on 23 March 1940 in Kampong Cham, Cambodia. He was an assistant director and director, known for Boulevard des assassins (1982), The 317th Platoon (1965) and Quai de l'étrangleur (1974). He died on 22 February 2013 in Paris, France.

Pisith Pilika was born Oak Eap Pili on February 4, 1965 in Svay Rieng Province, Cambodia. She had appeared in over 100 movies and shows during the 1980's and 1990's. She was also a ballet dancer. She was also in thousands of karaoke videos from the 1980s through the 1990s. Both of her parents died under the Khmer Rouge and her and her sisters were sent to live with their Uncle when they were children. Her career ended when she was murdered in broad daylight in Phnom Penh, Cambodia at the age of 34 on July 6, 1999.

Norodom Sihamoni was born on 14 May 1953 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. He is an actor, known for My Village at Sunset (1994) and Prachea Komar (1967).

Princess Norodom Bopha Devi was born on 8 January 1943 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. She is known for Königliches Ballett von Kambodscha (1964). She was married to Bruno Forsinetti . She died on 18 November 2019 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

Kimberly was born in Cambodia on September 14, 1978 near the end of the Khmer Rouge Genocide War. The Pal family like many other Cambodians became displaced after the war, the Pal family made the dangerous journey to Khao Daeng, Thailand seeking safety and help; they stayed in a refugee camp while awaiting political asylum. The Pal family migrated to United States of America in February 1983. They started their American roots in St. Paul, Minnesota but in the summer of 1990 Kimberly and a few of her family members moved to Long Beach, California.

Kimberly studied theatre and dramatic arts and performed at The Playhouse at Woodrow Wilson High School in Long Beach under Randy Bowden during her high school years. Randy Bowden was nominated for the inaugural Excellence in Theatre Education Award, presented by Carnegie Mellon University and the Tony Awards in 2015. Kimberly studied improvisation and sketch comedy at Second City, Hollywood; she also studied on camera performance arts at Krater Studio in Los Angeles. On her free time Kimberly performed stand up comedy at local bars and at The World Famous Comedy Store in Hollywood on the Main Stage and the Belly Room.

Vichara Dany was born Thith Vichara Dany sometime in 1948 in Cambodia. She was a popular Cambodian actress who most likely made her debut in 1967. She starred in a majority of films in the 1960's and early 1970's. She is often paired on screen with fellow actor Kon Samoeun. In only a span of at least seven years she is credited to have starred in over one hundred films. Details of her life are relatively unknown and she is believed to have perished shortly after the rise of the Khmer Rouge regime.

Recently, a popular Cambodian magazine[who?] has shed some light on her life during and after the Khmer Rouge regime. She is said to have been married to a Khmer Rouge cadre. By the time Vietnamese forces had invaded Cambodia in 1975, Vichara escaped from her captors and headed back to Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Along the way she is said to have died of complications during childbirth sometime in 1976 in Pursat Province, Cambodia.
