When a friend told him to give Hollywood a try, Roger got an apartment in Los Feliz, and shuttled back and forth between LAX and ORD. After four months he was hired to be the Associate Producer on a MOW. Then Associate Producer on "Lou Grant", the CBS series starring Ed Asner. There he was overseeing editing and spending a lot of time on the set. This was a graduate education in every phase of making a film. In the second year of the show Executive Producer Gene Reynolds gave Roger a shot at directing an episode. A few episodes later he won the DGA award and the Emmy for one of his episodes. Soon he was shooting films for television, and pilots. Later he moved on to mini-series, which has been the joy of his career, winning two more DGA awards, and working all over the world.

Silent-screen actress Ethel Clayton was a convent-educated girl from Champaign, IL, who sought work as a stage actress after finishing her education. She secured small parts here and there, but hit the big time when she went to work for the Frawley Organization, which had several touring stock companies. She got small parts at first but then began getting bigger ones until finally she was getting star billing. Howver, the advent of motion pictures soon piqued her curiosity, and a visit to a film studio aroused her interest even more. Producer Siegmund Lubin offered to star her in one of his productions, she consented--"just this one, though"--and made her film debut in "The Great Divide". However, after she saw the completed film, she consented to do another, The Lion and the Mouse (1914), and soon she had given up the stage altogether in favor of pictures. It was the beginning of a career that lasted more than 30 years and comprised more than 180 films. Her last one was The Perils of Pauline (1947), in which she had an uncredited bit part, after which she left the screen. She died in Oxnard, CA, in 1966.

Doug Wilson grew up on his family's farm in central Illinois. He graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and moved to New York in 1986 to study at the National Shakespeare Conservatory to pursue a stage and screen career. He won several stage and commercial roles but he didn't quite take to the hurry-up-and-wait nature of auditioning. For over 25 years, he presented filmmaking seminars for Kodak (at the Cannes Film Festival), The AFI, The International Film & TV Workshops, and many others throughout the world.

After being diagnosed with Parkinson's, his search for healing took him from stem cell therapy to Amazonian plant medicine. His spiritual quests were documented in his films "The Sacred Sites of the Dalai Lamas" (Tibet), "The Shaman & Ayahuasca" (Peru), and "Talking with Spirits" (Bali).

While he lived his final years in Cornwall, England, with his family, he wrote his memoir "Onward & Upward - Reflections of a Joyful Life," which was published in 2013, ten years before his passing in March 2023.

For more than twelve years, Ryan E. Heppe has been writing, producing, editing and directing feature motion pictures, film shorts, industrial and educational videos, commercials and documentaries. Ryan began his sojourn into the world of entertainment at a small PBS affiliate in east central Illinois where he spent several years creatively collaborating with the permanent staff and involving himself with everything from set design and construction to directing documentaries and live television broadcasts.

In early 1999, Ryan packed his bags and moved west to Los Angeles, California where he immediately snagged an internship with legendary movie producer David Foster (The Getaway (1972), The Mask of Zorro (1998), Short Circuit (1986)) at his production company. In only a few short months, Ryan climbed his way to the coveted position of Head of Development and became creatively involved with Foster's current productions at the time: Collateral Damage (2002) starring Arnold Schwarzenegger for Warner Bros., Hart's War (2002) starring Bruce Willis and Colin Farrell for MGM, and The Core (2003) starring Aaron Eckhart and Hilary Swank for Paramount. During production on The Core, Ryan pulled double-duty by not only working with David Foster, but also working with original screenwriter and co-producer Cooper Layne and co-producer Sean Bailey.

In late 2003, Ryan left David Foster Productions as an employee and began to find and develop his own material. He is currently producing a remake of the slasher film Silent Night, Deadly Night (1984); an independent werewolf film currently titled Legacy; a remake of the 80's favorite Short Circuit (1986); and numerous other projects in various stages of development.

Heppe, a native of Central Illinois, grew up with ambitions of becoming a motion picture director like his idols Wes Craven (The Hills Have Eyes (1977), A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984)) and the late Stanley Kubrick (2001: A Space Odyssey (1968), The Shining (1980)). After graduating from Heritage High School, he spent several years working in television production before heading to California. He resides in Los Angeles where he can often be seen screaming his head off for the L.A. Dodgers or quietly enjoying The Barber of Seville at the L.A. Opera House. Heppe is an avid bowler; enjoys a tasty bottle of wine; and spends as much time as he possibly can with his beautiful wife.
