Her parents did a fair amount of traveling, and had also spent some time in Brazil since leaving university. Emily only lived there until she was two and a half, when the family moved back to England. Emily still likes to think of herself as an honorary Kiwi! Emily started off playing the piano, when she was four. The family always had a piano in the house, her dad is very musical and her mum loved to sing, so she was surrounded by music from a very young age. Her dad had to put wood blocks on the piano pedals so she could reach them. Emily got into singing properly when she got to secondary school, and her music teacher put her forward for an audition to play Cinderella in a touring children's Welsh National Opera production, in an Oxford theatre. She was amazed when she got the part, and went on stage for the first time. Since then, she has been singing her heart out at every available opportunity.

Emily is singer and pianist of the tribute band Rumours of Fleetwood Mac.

At the age of 29 (2002), Tana has switched from the wing to the poistion of centre where he continues to be a handful for the opposition defence. Tana is contracted to the Wellington rugby union to 2004, so in the coming two years we hope to see many more devestating runs and big hits from the Samoan assasin (and hopefully he will find some glory in the black jersey of New Zealand).
