Count Orlok's appearance could be considered as frightening to some.
A crowd throws rocks at a man sitting on a rooftop. Although it is not realistic, it is kind of creepy to see how he doesn't massively react to it.
This movie is credited as being the first 'vampire' movie ever and the film being over 100 years old, the music is eerie, and Count Orlok looks pretty scary. The overall tone is nightmarish.
The furthest this movie goes with its horror is the slow and unnatural movements made by Count Orlok.
