The character of "Red Grange" is played by the real life Harold 'Red' Grange who, more than 75 years later, remains one of the most famous names in the history of football. The title of this serial was taken from Grange's famous nickname, "The Galloping Ghost."

For Chapters: 7 and 10, the main theme music is different. Also scenes shown during the credits are different from what was shown before. It's possible that somebody created this opening for a video released.

At the time of the making of the movie, Red Grange was playing for the Chicago Bears. There is a scene edited into this serial showing the Chicago Bears playing a game. During this scene the announcer can be heard referring to Red as a Bear player.

The maniacal laughter heard at the end of the chapters is of Theodore Lorch.
