In the shot where Nora finds Asta's bone in little Nicky's crib, you'll see Asta poke his head through the bars of the crib and grab the bone from his hand with his mouth. In the very next shot, Asta is sitting obediently as Nora gives him the bone again.
After Creeps first meets Nick and Nora, his suspenders disappear when he moves into the baby's room.
In the West Indies Club when Dum-Dum joins Nick at the table, the four drinks keep changing position on the table.
Regarding the trunk with the "missing initials" previously mentioned -- Actually, Nick opens a totally different trunk. Notice when Nora tried to open the trunk, there are stripes just below the clasp she is trying the open. When Nick successfully opens it, there are no stripes. As Nick walks away, you can see the trunk with the stripes to the right of the trunk that Nick just opened.
When baby Nickie is crawling on Nick as he sleeps, Nick is on his back. When the shot changes angles and Nora picks up baby Nickie, Nick is rolling onto his back from his left side.
It's mid summer yet Smitty is wearing a fur jacket.
At the beginning of the film when the telephone operator interrupts Nora's phone conversation; she tells Nora that Long Island is calling and if she would accept. This would be incorrect. An operator would tell her the name of the person who is trying to reach her not the name of the locale the person is calling from.
When Nick, Nora, and Lois are in the room and a shot is heard; the lights go brighter for a second and then go off. When a fuse is blown, the lights would go dark immediately. They don't flicker brighter and then go off.
On the evening of Colonel MacFay's murder, the Assistant District Attorney arrives at the murder scene and begins interrogating Nick Charles and Lois. This is a highly irregular and unlikely procedure. This would be the immediate role of a detective and the Assistant District Attorney would enter much later in the process. Additionally; in regards to Nora being interrogated; a detective and a regular cop would not simultaneously question a witness or potential suspect.
At the end of the film, Raphael's mother enters the bedroom with Wacky and grabs her baby. However; she grabs some bedding material that has been propped up to appear as if there's a baby there. Then on the next cut, they show the real baby.
When Nick and his family are being driven to Long Island the road and foliage shown in the rear screen projection are different from that of the live-action footage.
When Dum-Dum throws a knife at Nick; it brushes Nick creating a tear in his jacket. However, there is a tear already in Nick's suit jacket before the knife reaches him. Additionally, the knife flies past Nick without touching the jacket.
Freddie (Tom Neal) tells off Colonel McFey (C. Aubrey Smith), quits and says he is leaving. He remains for the duration of the film, however.
When a fight breaks out in the West Indies club; the lights go off. However, nothing happened specifically to cause the club to go dark.
When Lois is playing with the baby in Nick and Nora's room, a shot is heard. However, Lois' reaction to sound and the sound itself are not synchronized. Additionally, as the gunshot is heard, Lois is still talking to the baby however her voice is muted.
When Nick leaves Smitty's apartment; he slams the door. However, the sound of the door slamming is delayed.
When Dum-Dum opens the door to Smitty's apartment; the door makes no sound. However previously when the door was opened; it did make a sound.
When Nick is in Linda Mills' apartment; he enters a room and turns on the lights. However, the lights go on as soon as he touches the switch instead of going on when he moves the switch to the on position and the click sound of the switch is heard.
When Asta is frightened by the cat and chases his tail, a guiding leash is visible.
When the knife was found and given to the Assistant DA; he states that it was the knife that was definitely used. However, there was no way of him ascertaining that information. He didn't examine the body and wouldn't have the expertise to figure out what kind of knife was used especially on the same evening of the crime.
When the Colonel gets murdered; he is killed by a knife. During the investigation, a cop informs his chief that on a previous evening the Cuban threw a knife at Nick and missed but Asta's teeth marks are on the handle since the dog pulled it out of the wooden frame. The chief then tells him to look for the knife in the bushes to see if it is the same knife. However, there is no way for the chief to know where it was discarded or even if it was discarded.
When Wacky arrives at little Nickie's birthday party; he partially opens the door and pokes his head in. After a guest tells him that he can't come in here; he enters inside anyway with a baby. The guest then approaches him and scolds him that he's gotta have a kid in order to be admitted to the party. However, this doesn't make sense since the guest sees that Wacky has a baby in his arms. Apparently Wacky made a mistake. He was supposed to keep the baby partially hidden behind the door until the second piece of dialog about showing with a baby is delivered.
