Edward Bernds worked as sound engineer for this short, as well as sharing story credit with Harry Langdon, but when Harry Edwards was fired midway through shooting, Columbia had hired Bernds to take over directing, even though Edwards was the only director credited. However, Bernds later admitted that the quality of the short was poor and dubbed it as "A Columbia Mistake" and was not proud of the final cut.
Harry Langdon died of a cerebral hemorrhage a month after filming of this short was completed. In addition, El Brendel's contact with Columbia was terminated following Langdon's death.
Sadly, Harry Langdon died shortly after making this film. It would be released to theaters seven months after his death.
The one-sheet poster and title card only credits El Brendel as the main star with Harry Langdon credited as part of the supporting cast.
