Because of contractual requirements, Maria Montez receives star billing even though her role only demands she be on screen for about ten minutes, 40 minutes into the film, after which she is never seen again. Although the film was not produced by Universal, it was released by that studio and concluded Montez's contract with the studio.
Film credits "introduce" actress Paule Croset who was in fact Paula Corday who had been under contract to RKO for about four years, and had already appeared in nearly two dozen films.
"Screen Director's Playhouse" broadcast a 30 minute radio adaptation of the movie on January 23, 1949 with Douglas Fairbanks Jr. reprising his film role.
On its original release, prints were made with sepia tinting for added effect.
