Although the film was shot in color, producer Alex Gordon was astounded to see it black and white in a theater. When he contacted the distributor, Columbia Pictures, he was informed that all release prints were in black and white, with no explanation. Later, when the film was syndicated to television, the release prints were in color, with no explanation.
Columbia Pictures offered the film, in black and white, on a double bill with The Three Stooges Meet Hercules (1962), guaranteeing plenty of exposure and almost no publicity.
