Filming took place in March 1961. Winter nature was filmed near the city of Kirovsk (Murmansk region), where the Ukrainian village was built.
In 2009, the film was restored by the cinema association "Close-up" with Dolby Digital 5.1 sound.
Local residents took part in the mass filming. On December 15, 1961, they became the first spectators of the film in the local Palace of Culture.
In the early 1990s, the film was released by the cinema association "Close-up" on videotapes.
In 2005 the film was released on DVD by RUSCICO.
