The Mystery Science Theater 3000 version of the film featured a Film Ventures-lensed print of it that used a different title sequence made up of clips from the next film in the Godzilla series, Son of Godzilla (1967).
The original Japanese version of the film featured two scenes in which Ryota first goes to the Maritime Safety Office and then to a newspaper reporter to ask for help in locating his brother Yata. It is while he is at the newspaper office that Ryota sees a poster on the wall advertising the dance marathon.
In the original Japanese version of the film, there is rock and roll music playing in the background as Godzilla is fighting the Red Bamboo's air force. However, when it was released in the U.S., this music was cut.
