In Germany, the Aardvark was dubbed as a deep-voiced female and given the name "Die Blaue Elise" ("The Blue Elise"). She was also changed from an aardvark to an anteater. Many Germans and other Europeans who grew up with this version were confused to discover that Elise was originally a male character when watching the cartoon's original version. Since the German dub was still shown on television in the early 2000s and released on DVD, it reached multiple generations of fans, so a lot of fanmade art on the internet depict the Aardvark as a woman even to this day.
It is more likely that the actor that John Byner is impersonating as the Aardvark is actually Joey Bishop, not Jackie Mason. Jackie Mason was perhaps first suggested by Mark Arnold in his book "Think Pink! The DePatie-Freleng Story" and has now spread over the Internet. Can't be confirmed either way, though.
