This film was the sequel to the successful What's New Pussycat (1965). Woody Allen disowns both films, as do most of the cast.

During the chase scene, there is a brief segment where everybody is running in slow motion. The 2011 original soundtrack release revealed that this slow motion sequence was originally to run for a whole minute instead of just 20 seconds, as Lalo Schifrin had composed a separate section of music to underscore this part of the chase.
