A comic book adaptation of the film was published in 2010, written by Claude Lelouch himself with drawings by Bernard Swysen.
Underwent a 2K digital restoration in 2024 by Éclair Group and L.E. Diapason.
Jean-Louis Trintignant and Simone Signoret both turned down the roles played respectively by Jacques Brel and Nicole Courcel, while Bernard Tapie and Marcello Mastroianni were both considered for the role played by Aldo Maccione.
Jacques Brel met his last girlfriend Maddly Bamy during filming. They stayed together until his death seven years later.
