Disney star Selena Gomez is now one of the most influential and popular celebrities in the whole wide world. Known for her down-to-earth nature and candidness, the singer is also a businesswoman and a favorite of fans on social media. Often in the news for one thing or the other, suffice it to say, she has had her fair share of criticism for being in the limelight for so long.

Previously, it was her relationship with Justin Bieber, and now it is her weight that is regularly a topic of scrutinization among the many forums across the internet. But the singer/actress is not deterred by the constant criticism she faces, rather she simply does not care.

Coi Leray surprised Tomorrow X Together fans at the band’s Los Angeles stop on their world tour to perform their collaboration “Happy Fools” on Sunday night. The show marked the first time Leray and the TxT have performed their collab together, which appeared on the group’s latest EP, The Name Chapter: Temptation.
Tomorrow X Together made it through the song’s first half before Leray emerged on stage for her verse. “Yeah, Gucci coats and kisses / You should know that I’m expensive / I already take a trip from Cali,...

The lead character in The Mandalorian has been shrouded in mystery from the beginning. Due to a religious code, he’s prevented from showing anyone his face and must keep his helmet on at all times. He’s also ‘the man with no name,’ with other characters simply calling him ‘Mandalorian’ or ‘Mando.’ But soon after the series’ premiere, Pedro Pascal gave an interview where he appeared to accidentally mention his real name.
He revealed that it sounded like “Dyn Jarin,” and that’s now been confirmed in the show, with his official name in the credits being Dyn Djarin. Of course, knowing Djarin’s name doesn’t really clear up the mysterious background of the character, but throughout the first season we’ve gradually had little bits of his history doled out, revealing the traumatic childhood that molded him into the taciturn character we all know and love.

Welcome back to the Weekend Warrior, your weekly look at the new movies hitting theaters this weekend, as well as other cool events and things to check out.
Will This April Dump Weekend See Any New Movie Open Over $10 Million?
After the decent opening of last week’s The Fate of the Furious--though not quite as much as I predicted--it’s going to be hard for any new movie to make a mark against its second weekend even if it drops 55% or more this weekend, which is very likely.
Probably the best bet to make money this weekend is the thriller Unforgettable (Warner Bros.), which pits Kathryn Heigl against Rosario Dawson and is the directorial debut by producer Denise Di Novi (Crazy, Stupid, Love). It also stars Geoff Stults as the ex-husband of Heigl’s character Tessa, who becomes engaged to Dawson’s Julia, making her the stepmom to the former’s daughter,...

Best Documentary The Oath
Breakthrough Director Kevin Asch for Holy Rollers
Breakthrough Performance Ronald Bronstein from Daddy Longlegs
Best Film Not Playing at a Theater Near You Littlerock (Mike Ott)
Festival Genius Award Waiting For 'Superman'
Best Ensemble Performance Winter's Bone
Best Feature Winter's Bone
Tributes: Hilary Swank, James Schamus, Darren Aronofsky, Robert Duvall
The most interesting detail was that, despite a strong night for Winter's Bone, Jennifer Lawrence did not win Breakthrough Performance. I now kick myself for missing Daddy Longlegs which was on my Sundance schedule at least twice and I kept having to rearrange and missed it. The other immediately noticeable development was in the Documentary field. The field was entirely composed of films that did not make the Academy's Finalist List, Inside Job excepted. The terrorism doc The Oath won.

James Franco in 127 Hours
Photo: Fox Searchlight Pictures I really wanted to write about the actresses today, but since I will be seeing Love and Other Drugs in less than five hours it seemed silly to get into that topic without first experiencing Anne Hathaway's performance. So, we'll take a look at the men's side of things and explore the current state of the Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor race.
Best Actor Rank Nominee 1 Colin Firth (The King's Speech) 2 James Franco (127 Hours) 3 Jesse Eisenberg (The Social Network) 4 Robert Duvall (Get Low) 5 Javier Bardem (Biutiful) Click Here For Complete Chart I'll start with Best Actor as that seems to be a much quicker conversation since I think we are talking about either a two or three man race, depending on Jeff Bridges's performance in True Grit. I'll admit, Javier Bardem could come on strong with what I think...

Ellen Burstyn took a break from discussing politics on the red carpet for Poliwood to tell me about Main Street. There haven't 't been many details on the production, minus one image of Orlando Bloom in costume from Screening Log, but Ellen confirmed she's wrapped shooting the film alongside Bloom, Colin Firth, and Patricia Clarkson. While Burstyn didn't work directly with Amber Tamblyn she did confirm that Tamblyn is part of the project. Main Street is based on the Horton Foote's final screenplay about the town of Five Points and the residents who are disrupted from their daily routines when an outsider introduces some dangerous changes to their lives. Foote nabbed an Academy Award back in 1963 for Best Writing for adapting Harper Lee's To Kill a Mockingbird. He's also responsible for bringing John Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men and William Faulkner's short story "Tomorrow" to the big screen.

Horton Foote, the prolific playwright and screenwriter who gave enduring voice to the values of small-town America in such movies as "To Kill a Mockingbird," "Tender Mercies" and "The Trip to Bountiful" and plays like the Pulitzer Prize-winning "The Young Man From Atlanta," died Wednesday in Hartford, Conn. He was 92.
Foote died in his sleep in his apartment. He was working on "The Orphans' Home Cycle," a collection of nine plays that will be presented next fall at the Hartford Stage, where his daughter, actress Hallie Foote, is now appearing in a production of "Mockingbird."
The Texas-born writer's career spanned more than 50 years in film, TV and theater. He earned two Academy Awards -- best adapted screenplay for 1962's "Mockingbird" and best original screenplay for 1983's "Mercies" -- and was nominated for a third for 1985's "Bountiful."
