The film received a 4K restoration undertaken by laboratory L'Immagine Ritrovata from the original negative, with the collaboration of original cinematographer Robert Fraisse.
Murray Head later claimed he was also planned to contribute to the musical soundtrack of the film before Serge Gainsbourg was hired to compose the entire soundtrack.
In French version, Murray Head's voice was dubbed by actor Pierre Arditi.
Despite the fact that the film was being made by one of Klaus Kinski 's "friends", Just Jaeckin , the German actor did not sound too happy about being involved in the film - even though the film seems to have had its perks (Kinski Uncut, p253): "It's an insult that I have to do the movie Madame Claude, and here in Paris to boot. The salary is also wretched. But we need the money. The girls who play Madame Claude's prostitutes in the movie fuck like professionals. Especially the very young ones, but also the married ones, whom I can fuck only if their husbands are briefly out of town. A very young extra has a tiny, almost naked cu*t, like a mouth, very tiny ass cheeks, and very tiny tits. I always have to telephone her horny mom before I can fuck the daughter."
