Gareth Hunt replaced Nicky Henson as Agent No. 1 - Charles Bind for the sequel Undercover Lover (1979). Henson joined the Royal Shakespeare Company and could not do the film. Henson had originally signed on to do three Charles Bind pictures.
The criminal organization's acronym name KRASH stands for "Killing, Rape, Arson, Slaughter, and Hit" and is a parody of the Soviet counter-intelligence organization SMERSH, which was used by James Bond creator by Ian Fleming.

In the same first release year of 1977, actor Milton Reid played both the henchman Sandor in the James Bond movie The Spy Who Loved Me (1977), and the henchman Eye Patch in the spy spoof / James Bond parody picture No. 1 of the Secret Service (1977). Previously, Reid had applied to play the role of Oddjob in the James Bond film Goldfinger (1964), but was unsuccessful and lost out to Harold Sakata. Reid had also previously played an uncredited role of one of Dr. No's guards in Dr. No (1962).
