Taylor Sheridan has become nothing short of a TV mogul — at least within the realm of his sprawling "Yellowstone" franchise. It's not just that the saga now comprises two spin-off series in the form of prequels "1883" and "1923," (all of which Sheridan writes himself), it's that the co-creator of the mothership show seems to have an all-encompassing hold on the universe he helped construct.
Not only does he own two ranches on which "Yellowstone" and its spin-offs have shot, but he also bought all the horses that are used on the show and taught the series' actors how to ride. Having grown up around ranching and having owned a 1,200 acre ranch prior to becoming the impresario of the ever-expanding "Yellowstone" empire, Sheridan was keen to inject his show and its spin-offs with some of his real-life cowboy experience.
As if that weren't enough, there's more to Sheridan's intimate involvement with his popular Western franchise.

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs might have been accused of s*x trafficking and racketeering, but once he was a model citizen. The rapper had launched his infamous Vote or Die! Campaign in 2004 to encourage the public, mainly the youth, to cast their votes.
Though the campaign quickly fizzled out with not much success, it did inspire a hilarious music video. and South Park ridiculed the bizarre attempt in an episode that featured Diddy threatening a young child with m*rder. Unfortunately, in the light of recent accusations, fans could only lament at yet another piece of foreshadowing in the show.

Time Cut, Netflix’s newest foray into the YA slasher genre, arrives just in time to set a spooky tone for Halloween with a killer soundtrack to boot. This dark thriller stars Antonia Gentry (Ginny & Georgia) and Madison Bailey (Outer Banks) as siblings separated by two decades due to an eerie, time-travel twist. As Lucy (Bailey) discovers a mysterious machine on the anniversary of her sister Summer’s (Gentry) death, she seizes the chance to go back in time, hoping to save Summer from the clutches of the sinister “Sweetly Slasher.” But time travel isn’t simple—Lucy must avoid disrupting the future, all while navigating a nostalgic yet dangerous past.
What sets Time Cut apart is its ability to balance suspense and humor without taking itself too seriously. With echoes of Happy Death Day and Back to the Future, the film taps into nostalgic ’80s slasher vibes while keeping a modern,...

Star Wars: Skeleton Crew kicked off the month of November with a brand new trailer! The official trailer delves into the story of the upcoming series, which is about four kids who accidentally get lost in the galaxy on a ship they find.
One of the promotional points from the start has been the show would be pulling from the films of Amblin Entertainment, something that's been a big feature up to this point. Between pirates and the young protagonists, we've seen a lot of the images and teaser trailer giving nods to films like The Goonies and this official trailer definitely had some E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial vibes going.
However, one major change this official trailer did was go in a new hype-inducing direction:

With past winners including Beyoncé, Prince, and Michael Jackson, the R&b field at the Grammys has given us a great taste of some of the best music ever made. This year the field is quite competitive, so there will likely be a few surprising snubs coming due to how dense it is.

Muni Long’s “Made for Me (Live)” is the probable winner in Best R&b Performance. The track is arguably the biggest R&b hit of the year in terms of urban radio and streaming, similar to Muni’s previous Grammy winner, “Hrs and Hrs.” The original version of “Made for Me” was actually submitted last year, before it really became a hit, therefore making it ineligible this year, hence her submitting a live version. As Hilary Duff once said, let's go back, back to the beginning. And in Netflix's new horror movie Time Cut, that's exactly what Lucy does. Outer Banks star Madison Bailey leads the movie as Lucy, a teenager who travels back in time from 2024 to 2003 and must save her sister from being the next victim of the Sweetly Slasher serial killer.
Being a period piece (who else shuddered at the thought of movie taking place in 2003 being a period piece?), Time Cut features a number of throwback songs from the early 2000s, including a signature and iconic cut from the aforementioned pop icon Hilary Duff. If you think these early aughts songs are "so yesterday," think again!

Sad news shocked the music industry on Oct. 16, when the world learned that Liam Payne had died. The global superstar, who shot to fame as a member of the group One Direction, was found dead outside a hotel he was staying at in Buenos Aires, Argentina, after falling from a third-floor balcony. He was 31.
Payne has been in Argentina recently for his former bandmate Niall Horan’s concert. Reuters obtained a transcript of the call to police which noted that they were dispatched to the CasaSur Hotel in the city’s Palermo neighborhood for a report of an aggressive man believed to be under the effects of drugs and alcohol.
On the call to emergency responders, the hotel manager explained: “We have a guest who is intoxicated by drugs and alcohol … He’s breaking the whole room.” The manager also informed authorities that there was a balcony off Payne’s...

He was checked into General Hospital as John Doe, but we know the mystery patient is really Isiah Gannon, the man Lucky freed from being held prisoner by Sidwell. Here’s what we think will come out about him shortly:
It’s Who You Know
Gannon… Gannon… Gannon… Now, where did we hear that name before? Oh, yeah! Norah Hannon Gannon Buchanon (Hillary Bailey Smith). She came to Port Charles in 2017 as a lawyer for Valentin (James Patrick Stuart).
For decades before that, Norah was a leading lady on One Life to Live, including when Gh’s current Executive Producer, Frank Valentini, performed the same job for the folks of Llanview. This obviously non-coincidence makes us think that Isaiah’s (Sawandi Wilson — here’s what you need to know) last name, Gannon, wasn’t just plucked from a hat. It has to mean something.

With his long hair, sunglasses and bellbottoms, Hal Ashby was the epitome of the 1970s flower child, even though he was a decade older than most of the filmmakers working at the time. Though his flame burned brightly and briefly, he left behind a series of classics that signified the nose-thumbing, countercultural attitude of the era, with a bit of humanism and heart thrown in for good measure. Let’s take a look back at all 12 of his films, ranked worst to best.
Born on September 2, 1929 in Utah, Ashby ambled around before becoming an apprentice editor for Robert Swink, working for Hollywood legends William Wyler and George Stevens. He moved up the ranks to become an editor for Norman Jewison, with whom he shared a fraternal and professional relationship. They cut five films together, including “The Russians Are Coming! The Russians Are Coming!” (1966), which earned him his first Oscar nomination,...

The early 80s were a tumultuous period for much of the world. Tensions were high as the Second Cold War continued to play out between the U.S. and the Soviet Union; the ramifications of what would happen if the two nations fell out would be felt across the globe. America had elected Ronald Reagan to the Oval Office, and his passionate rhetoric about the Soviets did little to calm concerns about a possible third World War – which, thanks to nuclear weaponry, wouldn’t be as much a war as a worldwide holocaust. So yeah, it was a bit of a nerve-jangling time to be alive, but thankfully we still had the movies to chill us out.

Roger Vadim's 1968 sci-fi freak-out "Barbarella" is one of the zestiest, sexist, strangest, and most amusing pictures the genre has to offer. Set in the 41st century, "Barbarella" follows the merry caprices of the title heroine (Jane Fonda), a freelance adventurer of the cosmos. Barbarella, frequently undressed, is assigned by the President of Earth (Claude Dauphin) to track down a mysterious, missing scientist named Durand-Durand (Milo O'Shea) who has invented an all-powerful weapon called the positronic ray.
During her quest, Barbarella is attacked by killer dolls, befriends a blind angel (John Philip Law), is forced into a deadly orgasm machine (although she can outlast its mechanical manipulations), and faces off against the Black Queen, the tyrant ruler of Sogo.
The film was based on the erotic comics by Jean-Claude Forest, and possesses all the same sexual energy as the aggressively naughty original, even if it's not quite as sexually explicit.

Fittingly for an album named after an imaginary realm she invented as a child, Beatrice Laus’s sophomore effort as Beabadoobee, 2022’s Beatopia, was eccentric, unpredictable, and a bit fantastical, as if its songs were emanating like rays of light from a shimmery dreamworld sculpted out of ’90s indie-rock fuzz and bedroom pop.
Absent the clicks, hisses, and alien-sounding backing vocals that made Beatopia so appealingly weird, This Is How Tomorrow Moves initially sounds dry and familiar. But there’s a reason for that—and it’s not, or at least not entirely, a desire to court an Mor audience. Where Beatopia was influenced by ways of escaping the real world, from childhood fantasy to psilocybin, This Is How Tomorrow Moves is squarely grounded in frank reality—more specifically, the reality of the 24-year-old Laus striving for a new sense of maturity as a person and a songwriter.

Beatrice Laus has a clear head on This Is How Tomorrow Moves. For her third record, the singer-songwriter, who records as Beabadoobee, steps outside of the whimsical world she built on 2022’s Beatopia and faces the messy reality of becoming an adult. For Laus, that means owning her faults — a rite of passage she tackles like a champ.

Charles Cyphers, who played Sheriff Leigh Brackett opposite Jamie Lee Curtis in three Halloween movies, performances that spanned a remarkable 43 years, has died. He was 85.
Cyphers died Sunday in Tucson, Arizona, after a brief illness, his manager, Chris Roe, announced.
“Charles was an incredibly lovable and sensitive man,” Roe said in a statement. “He always had the best stories, and you got a full performance while he told you them. He was a close friend and client for over 20 years.”
In addition to Halloween (1978), Cyphers appeared in five other projects from writer-director John Carpenter: Assault on Precinct 13 (1976); the 1978 and 1979 telefilms Somebody’s Watching Me! and Elvis; The Fog (1980) and Escape From New York (1981).
“He was an early and frequent collaborator with me on my early movies,” Carpenter wrote on Twitter. “A kind man, he was a friend. I shall miss him.”

“Charles was a lovable and sensitive man,” Roe said in a statement. “He always had the best stories, and you got a full performance while he told you. He was a close friend and client of many years who will be dearly missed.”
“His family asks for privacy at this time,” Roe added. “Details on a celebration of life ceremony will happen at a date and location to be determined.”

Over the course of a screen acting career that stretched across fifty years, Charles Cyphers racked up 100 credits, but he’s best known for his collaborations with John Carpenter, having appeared in the director’s Assault on Precinct 13, Halloween, Someone’s Watching Me!, Elvis, The Fog, and Escape from New York. His most popular character was Sheriff Leigh Brackett from the 1978 Halloween, a role he reprised in 1981’s Halloween II and, after a forty year absence from the Halloween franchise, 2021’s Halloween Kills. Sadly, we’ve lost this great character actor, as Variety reports that Cyphers has passed away “from a brief illness” at the age of 85.
Cyphers’ manager Chris Roe confirmed his passing to Variety and provided the following statement: “Charles was a lovable and sensitive man. He always had the best stories, and you got a full performance while he told you. He was a close friend and...

Jon Voight keeps moving. The 85-year-old actor is shadowboxing, his footwork nimble for a man of any age, let alone someone older than even Joe Biden and Voight’s friend Donald Trump.
He pauses and arches an eyebrow and becomes a matinee villain. “You think you’re tough. I’ll show you tough.”
Today, we’re outside his Beverly Hills home. There’s a pool and a driveway where Voight designed the pavement that features tiny ducklings, rabbits, monkeys and a dragon etched into the cement. Near the entrance are the words “Wots Modder Wot You Jonny,” in honor of his Czech grandfather who never quite mastered English.
I’ve talked with Voight many times over the past year, and he is always engaging. But the presence of a photographer has kicked him into a high gear. He picks up a plastic rabbit in his yard and speaks to it,...

Zhang Yimou, director of many of China’s most spectacular and successful movies, is to try his hand at sci-fi. He will direct a film adaptation of “The Three-Body Problem.”
The project was announced Sunday by Wang Changtian, founder and CEO of Enlight Media, one of China’s top three studios, at a forum organized within the Shanghai International Film Festival.
Wang said that Zhang is in the early stages of preparations for the film. “We hope that director Zhang Yimou can grasp the essence of the ‘Three-Body Problem’ novel and make some breakthroughs and innovations, and gain something in the international market,” said Wang. Zhang has long been a creative consultant to Enlight and has shot several movies for the studio.
Chinese state media subsequently reported that copyright holder The Three-Body Universe Cultural Development had confirmed Wang’s information.
The 2008 novel is the first part of a trilogy written by Chinese author Liu Cixin.

In anticipation of her upcoming album This Is How Tomorrow Moves, beabadoobee has released a new single, “Coming Home.” Stream the tune below.
Following lead single “Take a Bite,” “Coming Home” taps into similarly personal themes. Overtop a Beatles-inspired indie pop instrumental, the artist sings nostalgically of missing her loved ones (and her cats) while away.

“I wrote it in a hotel room in LA when I was away from my boyfriend, my loved ones, my two cats,” she said. “It opens with all the little mundane things, like doing the dishes, that I miss because I’m always away. Really, it’s just a cute little love song with a weird non-existent structure.”
The new cut also arrives ahead of the artist’s 2024 tour, which kicks off in the fall and hits cities like New York, Toronto, Chicago, and more. Tickets are available here.

Bruce Dern is a two-time Oscar nominee who shows no signs of slowing down, having most recently appeared in Quentin Tarantino‘s “Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood” (2019). Let’s take a look back at 15 of his greatest films, ranked worst to best.
Born in 1936, Dern made his film debut with an uncredited appearance in Elia Kazan‘s “Wild River” (1960). He popped up in a number of supporting roles throughout the decade, making a name for himself in exploitation films produced by low-budget king Roger Corman.
Dern hit his stride in the 1970s, when a number of offbeat-looking performers suddenly became leading men. He earned his first Oscar nomination as Best Supporting Actor for Hal Ashby‘s Vietnam War drama “Coming Home” (1978), playing a Ptsd-afflicted marine whose wife (Jane Fonda) falls in love with a paralyzed vet (Jon Voight) while he’s deployed.

One of the most famous women in the world, Angelina Jolie, started acting right out of high school. Despite her outward appearance, she has described herself as an awkward outsider at Beverly Hills High School, where she was teased because by her rich classmates. She lived with her mother in an apartment, and the family existed only on child support from her father actor Jon Voight, who had financial problems of his own. She later transferred to a different school and found her identity as what she describes as “a punk chick with tattoos.”
She began her career in a series of forgettable films (“Cyborg 2” anyone?) but then suddenly grabbed attention in the TV mini-series “George Wallace.” The series depicted the life of the title character, who was a controversial governor of Alabama and a presidential candidate. Jolie received very positive reviews as his second wife, Cornelia. Later that same...
