The movie left out the important romance and off/on relationship between Freddie Prinze and Pam Grier. Freddie Prinze claimed that Pam was his one true love and desperately wanted her to have his children, but Pam did not feel it was the right time and she could not handle his fast pace.
Ira Angustain, who plays titular stand-up comic Freddie Prinze, ended up making a living speaking on stage... but as a preacher.
