It appears that they actually employed various first americans for this film. When white man matt colter and his native american wife build a cabin, they are visited by the paiute. Apparently, they have built their house on ceremonial grounds. Partly because of the language barrier, and partly due to a pregnancy, they don't leave quickly enough for the paiute. And then things get more complicated when colter kidnaps a native american woman to breast feed his newborn child. And now the chase is on. The paiute don't give up. They are determined to get their woman back. But colter is determined to keep his newborn alive. It's a battle to the end. Good drama. And, according to the opening card, a real issue, at one point. Shows the animosity between the white settlers and the native americans groups. Sadly, tim mcguire died young at age 41... only made one more film after this. Written and directed by charles pierce. Some very pretty scenery of oregon.
