Kill ‘Em All 2 picks up seven years after the events of the original, which makes sense since there’s seven years between the films, with Phillip reconnected with his daughter Vanessa and the two of them hiding out in southern Italy.
They obviously didn’t do a good job of it, as within the film’s first few minutes they’re attacked by goons working for Vlad Petrovic who is out to avenge the death of his brother Dimitri who was killed in the first film. This puts them on the run, trying to stay alive long enough to deal with Vlad and his crew, and the only way to do that is to kill ’em all.
I haven’t seen the original, and to be honest...

In 2018, a journalist asked Bruce Dickinson how he felt about the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The Iron Maiden singer inveighed: “If we’re ever inducted, I will refuse — they won’t bloody be having my corpse in there.”
A year later, Steve Harris — the band’s bassist and only consistent member since Maiden formed in 1975 — offered a more levelheaded take: “It’s very nice if people give you awards or accolades, but we didn’t get into the business for that sort of thing. … With what we do,...

Fresh off the long-awaited arrival of Zack Snyder’s Justice League (a.k.a. the fabled Snyder Cut), HBO Max has no need to appease fandom culture in April 2021. But the streaming service is gonna do it anyway!
The most notable new release for HBO Max this month is the HBO series The Nevers. This show, created by Joss Whedon, is set in a 19th century steampunk London and finds a sizable portion of the population (predominantly women) having been “Touched” by mysterious paranormal powers. There’s an interesting bit of irony at play here, as HBO Max is following up the Snyder Cut with a show created by his original Justice League replacement. Or at least there could have been an interesting bit of irony here, if Whedon had not bowed out from the show and been enthusiastically left out of the marketing material by HBO.

Iron Maiden played a high adrenaline, career-spanning setlist on their last tour and documented it for a new live album, Nights of the Living Dead: Legacy of the Beast: Live in Mexico City. The material comes from the three nights the group played at a Mexico City arena last September.
A limited-edition triple-lp will feature vinyl colored to match the Mexican flag; the collection will also be available in a limited-edition two-cd book format, as well as conventional two-cd, three-lp and digital releases. The record, in all its formats, will come out on November 20th.

Exclusive: Kelly McCormack (Killjoys) and Priscilla Delgado (Julieta) have been cast in Amazon’s hourlong pilot A League of Their Own, an adaptation of Penny Marshall’s 1992 feature film, from writers/executive producers Abbi Jacobson and Will Graham and Sony Pictures TV.
They will co-star opposite D’Arcy Carden and Jacobson, who are finalizing their acting deals, and Gbemisola Ikumelo, who is set.
Like the movie, A League of Their Own the series is about a women’s professional baseball league during World War II.
McCormack plays Jess, a talented pitcher and a vocal leader who is not afraid to speak up. Delgado plays Izzy, an optimistic and fun girl who is probably the youngest player to try out for the Rockford Peaches. The brave teenager left Cuba and landed in the Midwest just to play the game.
McCormack has a recurring role on the Netflix series Ginny & Georgia.

We are pleased to present the trailer and poster premiere for The Evil That Men Do, an action thriller that looks bruising. Fans of 1980s films should note that this Evil is not connected in any way to the film of the same title starring Charles Bronson and directed by J. Lee Thompson. Still, the trailer suggests desperate criminals in desperate times. It hails from Spain and is presented in English and Spanish, and will be released via various VOD platforms on Tuesday, October 17, 2017. Official synopsis: "Two soldiers of a powerful Mexican cartel, having lost their link to humanity, spend their time cutting people into little pieces and sending the parts to their enemies. Their lives are changed forever with the arrival of...

Twin Peaks is remembered for coffee and cherry pie. That’s fine and dandy; it’s an easy pop culture touchstone, a representation of the series' quirkier side. While that side is important to the series and was the biggest contributor to its initial success, it’s the darker world of Twin Peaks that has sustained it through the series cancellation all the way to its revival. This is the stuff that excites the hardcore Twin Peaks fans.

His new book reveals more information on the Death Wish series and also details the complex histories behind eighteen other Charles Bronson movies. Documented herein are fascinating tales behind some of the finest Bronson films of the mid-1970s (including Hard Times and From Noon Till Three); his big-budget independent epics Love And Bullets and Cabo Blanco; his lesser-known, underrated dramas Borderline and Act Of Vengeance; his notorious sleaze/action Cannon Films classics of the 80s (including 10 To Midnight, Murphy’S Law and Kinjite: Forbidden Sunjects); the numerous unmade projects he was attached to; and his TV movies of the 90s (including The Sea Wolf). Exhaustively researched, the book features over three dozen exclusive, candid interviews including...

Written by Rachel Deering | Art by Christopher Mooneyham, Wesley St. Clare | Published by Titan Comics | Format: Paperback, 96pp
A little bit of research showed that this title has had quite the history in its short life. Creator Rachel Deering has used Kickstarter to try and raise funds to get the title self published, had artists drop out on her, has had to fire artists, and had virtually every publisher she approached reject the title. After all that, it’s nice it finally has a settled home at Titan Comics. So what exactly is Anathema?
The easiest way to classify it is to call it ‘classic’ horror. It has the deliberate look and feel of those 60′s and 70′s Hammer horror films, mixed in with the pulpiness of EC Comics and the black & white magazines from Warren Publishing. The creator Rachel Deering is very upfront about wanting to write a book...

Twin Peaks, Season 2, Episode 9, “Arbitrary Law”
Written by Mark Frost, Harley Peyton & Robert Engels
Directed by Tim Hunter
Originally aired December 1, 1990 on ABC
“If I die, I know he can’t hurt me anymore.”
A lot happens this week. Usually, Twin Peaks is a series that follows its own pace, setting its own rules and moving forward slowly but surely. Last week felt like something of a bizarre stasis, as Leland continued to roam free and everyone else mourned, investigated, meandered. Here, the truth is revealed to everyone, not just us. It comes to Cooper first, of course, in a dream. But this is an overstuffed episode, absolutely fascinating in what it tries to pull off and in its relative failures.
That rushed feeling lasts throughout, never lingering anywhere for too long, erasing the atmosphere established in the last two weeks to replace it with something resembling a slasher flick.

Comics icon Stan Lee has said that he would love to see Kevin Smith direct a Marvel blockbuster.
Speaking at the London Film and Comic Con, Lee claimed that Smith - who gave him a cameo role in Mallrats - would do "a great job" with a Marvel character on the big screen.
"He's the 'fella who did the movie Mallrats years ago. My first starring vehicle!" Lee quipped. "Kevin knows the comics as well as anybody - I don't know why Marvel doesn't hire him to do one of their movies. Maybe they will."
Smith has previously worked on Daredevil comic book runs for Marvel and penned the six-issue limited series Spider-Man/Black Cat: The Evil That Men Do.
Lee also addressed his favourite Marvel movie cameos, highlighting two appearances in particular: "The one I did where I was the librarian and I was playing music while Spider-Man...

The poster screamed: “Most criminals answer to the law. The world’s most savage executioner must answer to Bronson.” Since the late 1960s, Charles Bronson’s name on a marquee was a guarantee of unchained action. When The Evil That Men Do opened in 1984, fans were hit with the expected violence─but this time they were also assaulted with thick layers of sadism, sleaze and depravity. And they loved it.
Born in 1921, Charles Bronson (originally Bunchinsky) was a dirt-poor Pennsylvania coal miner before he was drafted and later used the GI Bill to study acting. After dozens of small roles, he became a popular supporting player in hit films like The Magnificent Seven (1960) and The Great Escape (1963)─then went overseas to star in European pictures like Farewell, Friend (1967), Once Upon a Time in the West (1967) and Rider on the Rain (1970). Marvel: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns and we find out the fate of Phil Coulson and Mike Peterson. Also, Skye commits more felonies than a drunken NFL player.
Welcome back, folks. When we last left our intrepid band of misfit heroes, Super Agent Mike Peterson got himself blown all to bits by Centipede and beloved Agent Phil Coulson got himself agentnapped by the same group of villainous villains. And Super Sexy Agent Ward got used for target practice.
Basically, things sucked.
The Strategic Homeland Intervention Enforcement and Logistics Division is not really on board with one of their favorite agents getting nicked. It turns out, you can implant bombs in peoples’ heads, steal classified alien technology and make your own super soldiers and all you will get is an irate Coulson and his scrappy band of agents on your butt. But if you kidnap Nick Fury’s one good eye? It’s World War Three.

I put off reviewing the December cover issues of the Before Watchmen event because two of the five issues never arrived. After waiting a few days, I decided to get a hold of DC and found out they had been delayed for some reason or another. Fans of the "Watchmen" prequels were no doubt disappointed to find that the latest entries in both the Silk Spectre and Comedian books weren't hitting shelves as scheduled. However, we did get the next chapters in Rorschach, Dr. Manhattan, and the Minutemen's adventures.
Before Watchmen: Rorschach Issue #2 kicked off the month with a literal bang as the title vigilante continues his one man war against the felonious scum of New York City. His unmercifully violent handiwork has garnered the attention of crime lord Rawhead, who continues his mission to put an end to the masked avenger. The question is, "How much damage can...

Who Bombed Judi Bari? is one of the most extraordinary documentaries -- actually one of the most extraordinary films -- I have ever seen. It accomplishes something extremely out-of-the-ordinary: It not only substantially and vividly makes its point about environmental issues and the sizable contribution environmental activist Judi Bari made during her lifetime, but as it progresses it enters the domain of the "transcendental," the rarest of cinematic feats.
Who Bombed Judi Bari? is much, much more than an environmental activist documentary. Directed and edited by Mary Liz Thomson, and produced by Darryl Cherney (who endured the bombing and its aftereffects alongside Judi), it creates an intense, often amusing, wrenching, and ultimately extraordinarily inspiring cinematic experience.
Compounding its excellence is that it speaks to this moment in the history of the U.S. and the world. Though the film centers on the life of environmental activist Judi Bari (from 1990 until...

Before Watchmen: Minutemen continues the prequel series with the same high-standards in story and artwork we've come to expect from the different creators involved. Every month, this specific title from the Before Watchmen event takes us deeper into the history of the costumed crime fighters. Whether fans of the original graphic novel want to admit it or not, Darwyn Cooke has successfully expanded the universe of Watchmen.
The third issue of Before Watchmen: Minutemen shifts most of the focus to Ursula Zandt (aka The Silhouette) and her battle with a child sex trafficking ring. Her friendship with Hollis Mason is spotlighted as well. It's interesting to see the Silhouette's story filled out since it was left wide-open in the original book.
The Comedian (Eddie Blake) is the other focal point of issue #3. Readers are shown how Blake was kicked out of the Minutemen after the attempted rape of...

What is surely one of the most anticipated entries in the Before Watchmen event is now out. Before Watchmen: Rorschach Issue #1 kicks off the second wave in the prequel series. Writer Brian Azzarello and artist Lee Bermejo deliver on all the hype.
Before Watchmen: Rorschach Issue #1 finds the masked trench coat-wearing vigilante hot on the trail of a heroin dealing ring. When he meets the head of the syndicate, things begin to look bleak.
