The film is dedicated to Edward Platt. At the end of the movie is the following: This movie is dedicated to the memory of Ed Platt, "The Chief."
Ironically, this reunion movie aired on ABC - the network that rejected the original pilot for the Get Smart (1965) TV series!
The computer system used in the beginning of the movie to lookup information was a Commodore Amiga 1000.
At one point in this tele-movie, Barbara Feldon's Agent 99 refers to the criminal organization THRUSH. This body existed within the The Man from U.N.C.L.E. (1964) TV series to which Feldon once guest starred as Mandy Stevenson in one episode, The Never-Never Affair (1965). The meaning of the acronym THRUSH was never spelled out in the series, though a meaning was created for one of the UNCLE novels published at the time ("Technological Hierarchy for the Removal of Undesirables and the Subjugation of Humanity").
