- When Jeremiah gets traumatized by being beaten the first time with a belt (21:10) he imagines himself in a desert losing his arms which are picked up by birds. In Santa Sangre (produced and co-written by Asia Argentos Uncle Claudio Argento) Concha looks at her own cut off arms pecked at by birds. In another scene the traumatized Fenix imagins his mothers cut off arms on the ground pecked at by birds while she plays piano using his arms as hers.
