Poor John Travolta. Poor, poor John Travolta. Idina Menzel, whom the "Battlefield Earth" star inadvertently rechristened at the Oscars on Sunday, has decided to have a little fun at Travolta's expense by reprinting the official Playbill for her new Broadway musical "If/Then" with the name "Adele Dazeem" listed on her official bio. To further reflect the alternate universe in which John Travolta clearly resides, "Rent" is now "Nert," "Wicked" is now "Wicked-ly" and "Frozen" is now "Farfignugen." Final analysis? Idina Menzel wins everything. At this performance... #idinamenzel #adeledazeem pic.twitter.com/rpgi4BYaLa — Janet Krupin (@janetkrupin) March 4, 2014...

Jason Blum's Blumhouse is becoming something of a modern day Hammer Horror production company. The constant flow of horror projects from the Blum is quite impressive. Some don't quite hit the mark whilst others are superbly crafted little horror treats. 'The Veil' is the latest small budget genre production that is set to revolve around the theme of cults and mass suicides. And the project, to be helmed by Phil Joanou ('Final Analysis'), has landed its leading man in the form of Thomas Jane ('The Mist'). Joanou will helm from a script provided by 'Hell Baby' star and co-writer Robert Ben Garant whilst Universal are poised to distribute....

Thomas Jane will star in The Veil, the latest microbudget horror film from Jason Blum's Blumhouse, which has Phil Joanou on board to direct. Universal will distribute per its first-look deal with Blumhouse. Joanou is a video director who helmed the Kim Basinger-Richard Gere erotic thriller Final Analysis but most recently teamed up with Jane to make the wildly popular short The Punisher: Dirty Laundry, an unauthorized take on the Marvel vigilante character. Related: Hollywood's 20 Masters of Horror Veil is written by Robert Ben Garant, a co-creator of the comedy show Reno 911, who with his

Predicting the Academy Awards is always a tricky game, and each year has its own special flavor that makes some categories easy, and others particularly difficult. While some categories are locks, as would seem to be the case with Cate Blanchett in the Best Actress category this year (having won so many other awards for the role), for others, you really have to have your finger on the pulse of the collective film world consciousness if you want to do more than just take a stab in the dark.
But, where exactly do you look, and which predictors really mean something?
Just for fun, let’s see if we can figure where to look, and how to get your best guess. We’ll take a look at three categories, just to get a sampling of how to check out what the “pulse” looks like. Let’s take Film, Director, and Actor.

The actor and his wife are separated and planning to divorce, according to a shocking report. The couple, who have not been photographed together in almost a year, are said to have ‘drifted’ apart.
Richard Gere and his wife Carey Lowell are calling reportedly calling it quits. Richard, 64, and Carey, 52, have a 13-year-old son together, Homer, and they were together for seven years before they tied-the-knot, so this definitely comes as a shock!
Richard Gere & Wife Carey Lowell Filing For Divorce?
Richard and Carey, a former Bond girl, married in a secret ceremony in November of 2002. At the time he said that she “changed my life” and that marriage doesn’t have meaning unless you “do it from your heart.”
But despite the fact that they had seven years of dating under their belt, and now 11 years of marriage, they are reportedly throwing in the towel.

Considering it's where most of us (bar the weird home-schooled kids) spend our crucial formative years, where we have our first fights, our first loves, our first tentative steps into adulthood, it's no surprise that high school has long been a popular setting for movies. A range of genres (though generally leaning towards comedy) have taken place in those hallways, particularly from the 1980s onwards, when John Hughes, among others, made an entire career out of the lives and loves of 15-18 year olds.
The latest film to head back to class is "21 Jump Street" (review here) the big-screen reboot of the '80s TV show, which stars Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum as youthful-looking cops who are sent back to high school in order to bust a drug-running ring. While you might assume this to be another lazy remake, you'd be very wrong, as Tatum, Hill, co-writer Michael Bacall,...

Memorable roles in American Gigolo and An Officer And A Gentleman seem a long time ago
Allow me to favour you with a little movie list. Try to guess what they have in common and I'll meet you in paragraph two: No Mercy, Power, Miles From Home, Mr Jones, Final Analysis, Sommersby, Intersection, King David, Red Corner, The Jackal, Red Corner, The Mothman Prophecies, Unfaithful, Shall We Dance, Amelia.
I know, I know: it looks like the Razzie Winners' display at some bleak video store in the sixth circle of Hell, or perhaps the entire directorial oeuvre of Alan Smithee handily quarantined to prevent them from infecting the poor innocent DVDs on neighbouring shelves. But let me straighten you out: they all star one Richard Tiffany Gere, who can be seen this week in another of his patented misfires, Brooklyn's Finest.

Title: "Duchess of Mandalore"
Writer/Director: Drew Z. Greenberg / Brian Kalin O'Connell
Tagline: "In war, truth is the first casualty."
Story: The three-episode Mandalorian arc closes with "Duchess," but we'll likely see more of the fan-favorite people before too long. Duchess Satine (Anna Graves) arrives safely on Coruscant with her entourage and Jedi escort Obi-Wan Kenobi (James Arnold Taylor), only to face a danger of a different stripe: the Republic Senate. The current item on their docket is deciding whether or not a Republic occupation of neutral Mandalore is necessary in order to halt the expansion of the Death Watch. Chancellor Palpatine (Ian Abercrombie) might just get his way too, after a recording surfaces that indicates Satine may not be as in control of her people as she believes.
A Fanbase Divided: As far as these episodes go, there are two kinds of fans: the people who appreciate how the...

Kevin Spacey, who has spent too much of the 10 years since "American Beauty" coasting by on hammy snark, reminds us he's an Oscar-winning actor as a psychotherapist to the stars in "Shrink."
There's an actual depth to his depressed, self-medicating Henry Carter, author of the best-selling "Happiness Now." Unfortunately, the same cannot be said of the surrounding movie, which comes from his production company.
Henry virtually chain-smokes weed when he's not neglecting his self-absorbed patients, who include an aging -- she's past 30 -- actress (Saffron Burrows), a paranoid uber-agent (Dallas Roberts, very funny) and an alcoholic,...
