Angelina Jolie celebrates her 39th birthday today! The A-list actress made her silver screen debut at the early age of seven, when she appeared alongside her father, Jon Voight, in the film “Lookin’ to Get Out.” At the age of sixteen, Angelina began to seriously pursue acting and landed her first leading role in the straight-to-video film “Cyborg 2.” Jolie quickly rose to prominence as an actress and went on to win three Golden Globe Awards – the first was given for her performance in the TV movie “George Wallace,” she received a second Golden Globe for portraying the titular character in the HBO film “Gia,” and won a third for her breakout role as Lisa Rowe in “Girl, Interrupted.” Although she experienced success earl y on in her career, the starlet’s fame reached new heights when she was cast as the title role in the film “Lara Croft: Tomb Raider,...

Angelina Jolie has admitted that she threw up after watching her first starring movie performance.
The Salt star got her first starring role in the 1993 sci-fi thriller Cyborg 2 as a robot assassin who can feel human emotions. The film was released straight to video.
Speaking of her embarrassment, Jolie told Buzzfeed: "Oh, I threw up. I did. I saw it and I threw up. Just nausea... But I was 17 and I think I thought I was making a real movie, which is odd, since there's a scene when I'm decapitated and talking - as one does.
"But, yeah, I saw it and got really sick. I just remember my brother Jamie holding me and saying, 'It's going to be all right.'"
The 38-year-old is currently starring in Disney's Maleficent. Her performance as the title character has been described as "mesmerising" by Digital Spy.

It's hard to believe Angelina Jolie has been a fixture of Hollywood for almost 20 years now.
Ever since breaking out in the late '90s with a string of critically-acclaimed performances, the actress quickly established herself as an international star. Between headlining hits like "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" and directing passion projects like "In the Land of Blood and Honey," Jolie is perhaps the biggest Hollywood spokesperson of humanitarian efforts worldwide. This summer, however, Jolie can be seen taking a wicked turn in Disney's "Maleficent" -- a re-imagining of "Sleeping Beauty" from the villain's point-of-view.
From her Oscar-winning godfather to her curiosity with blood, here are 33 things you probably don't know about Angelina Jolie.
1. Jolie was born June 4, 1975 in Los Angeles to Jon Voight and Marcheline Bertrand, both actors.
2. The actress was born Angelina Jolie Voight, but she legally dropped her surname "Voight" in 2002.
3. She is the goddaughter of actress Jacqueline Bisset and actor Maximilian Schell.

As all lovers of crime, suspense thriller, war, western, horror and science fiction films know, creating a truly great cinematic villain is no easy task. When it happens, it’s virtually impossible to forget that character.
We’ll now take a look at the greatest film villains of the 1980’s.
The criteria for this article is the same as my previous article Cinema’s Greatest Villains: The 1970’s: the villains must be from live-action films-no animated features-and must pose some type of direct or indirect lethal threat. The villains can be either individuals or small groups that act as one unit.
The villains must be human or human in appearance, so no shape-shifting alien from John Carpenter’s amazing 1982 The Thing, no Aliens from James Cameron’s classic 1986 sequel and no Predator from John McTiernan’s beloved 1987 film of the same name.
Also, individuals that are the central protagonists/antiheroes...

Every actress has one pre-fame genre movie you just know they wish would evaporate.
Jennifer Aniston screamed it up in 1993's Leprechaun, Renee Zellweger was stalked by Matthew McConaughey in 1994's Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation and Angelina Jolie played an "love robot" in1993's Cyborg 2. All terrible. All forgettable. All available for purchase right now.

And now it looks like we can add Community star Alison Brie to that list of embarrassed actresses as JoBlo.com has dug up 2007's Born, a horror movie that truly tested the limits of her professionalism. As in, I can't believe Alison was actually able to deliver some of these horrifically hilarious lines and scenarios with a straight face. And not just a straight face, but deliver actual emotions that are so clearly above the material, it's no surprise she went on to greatness!

Angelina Jolie can't go anywhere without paparazzi hounding her children, but just this once, how about we take a look at the superstar actress when she herself was a little kid.
Before she was kicking tail as Lara Croft, winning Oscars and directing her own films, Angelina Jolie was a six year old girl with a famous daddy. And while she's clearly made it in Hollywood on the strength of her own talent, she did get her first role in the film industry thanks to that great bloodline.
Jolie stole the show in a brief appearance in dad Jon Voight's 1982 film, "Lookin' To Get Out," playing -- of all things! -- Voight's daughter, named Tosh. But this super cute little clip comes when she's with her on-screen mom, who was played by Ann Margaret, and we can see her natural charm and the beginnings of her trademark features even at that early age.

Watch Cyborg Free Online. Albert Pyun‘s Cyborg (1989) stars Jean-Claude Van Damme, Deborah Richter, Vincent Klyn, Dayle Haddon, and Terrie Batson. Cyborg (1989)’s plot synopsis: a martial-arts science fiction film where Gibson Rickenbacker (Jean-Claude Van Damme), a gun for hire (Slingers), battles a group of murderous marauders (The Pirates) led by Fender Tremolo (Vincent Klyn) along the East coast of the United States in a post-apocalyptic future to rescue and protect a cyborg that holds the key to the salvation of humanity. “I like this World!!!!!!”
My favorite part of Cyborg is probably the sewer/chase/fight sequence. Great action. Cyborg didn’t do very well in theaters though.”The movie received a generally negative reception from critics however it did retained a cult status…Cyborg 2, starring Elias Koteas and Angelina Jolie, was released in 1993. Posterized [episode 4]
Angelina Jolie turns 35 today. Her supernova career holds many lessons for talented young actors (and we civilians, too). While an unforgettable presence, the key ingredient, is not exactly duplicable even for those with above average skills, other elements are. If a young actor can muster up even half of her watchability, they'll have a robust career. Just a quick perusal of her filmography brings certain lessons to light.
Cyborg 2 (1993) | Hackers (1995) | Foxfire (1996)
Rule #1 Take anything you can get (at first).
Ms. Jolie, unlike many children of Oscar winning movie stars before her, didn't exactly aim high at first. She'd do youth movies, genre movies, straight to video movies, music videos, short films, television, cyborg movies. You can lose a lot of opportunities if you're too picky, too soon. Those posters up top are just a few from her teenage and early 20s period.
Gia (1998) | Playing God (1997) | Playing By Heart...

Angelina Jolie is the second daughter of actors Jon Voight and Marcheline Bertrand; her older brother is James Haven. She is of Slovak and German decent, on her father’s side, and of French Canadian on her mother’s side. After their parents separation in 1976 Angelina and James were raised by their mother. Her professional career didn’t begin until 1993 in an independent low-budget film called Cyborg 2. During her first Hollywood film, Hackers, she met her first husband, Johnny Lee Miller. During the next four years, she continued to develop her career with small but significant roles. Her breakthrough came in 1997, when she portrayed Cornelia Wallace in the biographical film George Wallace. This performance won her a Golden Globe Award. The next year she proved again her acting skills in Gia, which not only won her a Golden Globe Award but also her first Screen Actors Guild Award. That...

Robots are the ultimate Sci-Fi sex objects. While the human female can be as perfect, they come with certain disadvantages, like free will and a healthy suspicion of males. Synthetic females in film and television seem designed for no guilt attraction. Most are engineered to pass entirely as women, while some wear their feminine chrome in plain view. Disguised, a beautiful bot can perform many tasks, including deluding stupid and smitten males for the brief time it will require for them to be probed, sampled, interrogated or terminated. What other tasks a girl robot may wish or be programmed to perform we can leave up to your imagination. Here are a few of the sexiest robots on film and television. Angelina Jolie In Cyborg 2 This was Angelina’s first grown up movie role. In it she played a secret agent bot and an occasionally naked one. Soon she was...

It’s time once again for horror at the Oscars. Sunday’s festivities were filled with folks who have worked in the genre and per usual, I feel if it’s a win for Danny Boyle, it is a win for rage-zombie fans everywhere. Seems like a lot of folks this year are veterans of Exorcist: The Beginning, Amityville: A New Generation and Gremlins 2: The New Batch. Of course, the most important genre win would be Greg Cannom, a staple of 80’s horror effects; he worked on such films as Fright Night Part 2, The Lost Boys and The Howling.
Now some movies on this list might be “kinda horror.” These thrillers or genre-friendly frameworks are on the ghoulish cusp and are marked with an asterisk. Some flicks on the list are there because, what the fuck,...
