The film sees Director Ridley Tsui Po-wah, who also handled the films action choreography and played a co-starring role, pay homage to a number of classic Hong Kong movies including "The Killer" referenced in the opening scene, and especially the finale which pays tribute to the finale of the Jackie Chan classic "Heart of the Dragon", directed by Sammo Hung.
