Bruce Springsteen’s recent appearance at a Philadelphia rally for Kamala Harris features in a new campaign ad that the rocker shared on social media just days before the election.
In the ad dubbed “Hopes and Dreams” — a nod to his song “Land of Hope and Dreams,” which he performed at the Temple University rally on Oct. 28 — Springsteen denounces Donald Trump and offers his compelling case why Americans should vote Harris-Walz on Election Day.
“This election is about a group of folks who want to fundamentally undermine our American way of life.

Bruce Springsteen ain’t afraid of no ghosts! The Boss got into the spooky spirit of Halloween Thursday night at his concert at Montreal’s Centre Bell. While opening his show with the E Street Band, Springsteen performed a cover of “Ghostbusters” by Ray Parker Jr.
Videos from the show capture Springsteen rocking out with his band surrounded by purple lights as he leads a call and response with the song’s chorus: “Who you gonna call? Ghostbusters!”

Philadelphia — Eight days out from the 2024 election, thousands of Pennsylvania Democrats gathered at Temple University’s Liacouras Center in answer to the ugly, grievance-filled ragefest hosted by the Trump campaign at New York’s Madison Square Garden the evening prior.
The Democrats’ event featured performances from Bruce Springsteen and John Legend between speeches from Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker, Pennsylvania Sen. Bob Casey, and former President Barack Obama.
Amid the posterboard signs given out by the Harris campaign — emblazoned with the words “Vote,” “Freedom,” and “When We Fight, We Win” — the...

Just days after Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band delivered an instantly classic set in Asbury Park, New Jersey for the Sea.Hear.Now Festival, the performance has been released as a live album, available on CD and streaming via the live music platform nugs.net.
The set, which take place on September 15th, was a homecoming of sorts for Springsteen and the E Street Band, who first got their start gigging around the Asbury Park area. Among its 30-song setlist were hits like “Dancing in the Dark” and “Born to Run,” plus bust-outs, like the tour premieres of “Blinded by the Light,” “Does This Bus Stop at 82nd Street?”, “4th of July, Asbury Park (Sandy),” and more.

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band gave Asbury Park, New Jersey a show to remember with an epic headlining set at Sea.Hear.Now festival on Sunday night.
The show was a homecoming for Springsteen and the band, who got their start playing gigs in and around Asbury Park in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Appropriately, the first half of the Sea.Hear.Now setlist leaned heavily into material from Springsteen’s debut album, Greetings from Asbury Park, N.J., as well as other Jersey-centric songs. Notably, Springsteen performed tracks like “Blinded by the Light,” “Does This Bus Stop at 82nd Street?,” “Thundercrack,” and “4th of July, Asbury Park (Sandy)” for the first time in nearly a decade.

Daniel Seavey navigates the aftermath of a break-up on his new single, “Other People.”
In a statement, the singer-songwriter described the emotional pop-rock track as a “breakup song,” but neither an “angry” one nor “necessarily one-sided like a lot of breakup songs are.” Seavey went on to say that “Other People” captures “a situation where you just lost that spark. It’s about the breakups where nothing went wrong, but things just burned out.”
He continued: “I don’t like the idea that people ever mean to do wrong to you,...

Some of the biggest classic rock stars weren’t radio giants. Case in point: Bruce Springsteen never managed to have a No. 1 single, but he did get to No. 2. Interestingly, he worried that broadening his appeal could backfire.
1 Bruce Springsteen pop hit was about his ‘alienation’
Springsteen’s only single to make it to No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 was “Dancing in the Dark.” In his 2016 book Born to Run, Springsteen explained what he was thinking when he penned “Dancing in the Dark.” “That evening I wrote ‘Dancing in the Dark,’ my song about my own alienation, fatigue, and desire to get out from inside the studio, my room, my record, my head and … live,” he recalled. “This was the record and song that’d take me my farthest into the pop mainstream.”

Cassandra Jenkins isn’t much of a rock-‘n’-roll singer. “Clams Casino,” the second track on the Brooklyn singer-songwriter’s third studio album, My Light, My Destroyer, is the zippiest rocker she’s penned to date, but her whispercore vocals—so pitch-perfect on the album’s opener, the hazy morning reverie that is “Devotion”—clash with the song’s jagged electric guitars and chugging rhythm. Fortunately, this is an anomaly on an album in which Jenkins’s voice typically melts seamlessly into the subtle, vast sonic tapestry.
Working with a large ensemble of collaborators, Jenkins explores a broader range of genres and moods on My Light, My Destroyer than she ever has before. Most of the musical elements feel fairly familiar—folksy strumming, Pixies-ish guitar riffs, jazzy saxophone—but when they’re woven together with field recordings and found sounds, something new, almost otherworldly begins to emerge. It’s...

Courteney Cox may have changed her clothes, her hair, her face, but she can still rock her “Dancing in the Dark” moves. In a recent TikTok video, Cox demonstrated that she’s still got it even 40 years after the Bruce Springsteen video was released.
As part of the 80s Dance Challenge trend on social media, Courteney Cox started her video off with some less-than-hip moves before launching into her immediately famous “Dancing in the Dark” routine, complete with the same top she wore in the music video. Unfortunately, we only see Cox doing it for about three seconds before it then cuts to the actual video, which was released as part of the promotion of Bruce’s 1984 Born in the USA album.
Courteney Cox’s first notable work was actually the “Dancing in the Dark” video, capturing immediate attention and serving as an ever-present highlight clip on those “Before They Were Stars” reels.

Courteney Cox Re-Creates Dance From Bruce Springsteen’s “Dancing in the Dark” Video for TikTok Trend
Courteney Cox re-created her “Dancing in the Dark” dance for a TikTok trend.
In recent weeks, TikTokers have taken to asking their moms how they danced in the 1980s and posting videos, many of which are backed by the 1984 song “Smalltown Boy,” by Bronski Beat.
Cox, of course, famously got her start by appearing in the 1984 video for Bruce Springsteen’s “Dancing in the Dark.” (She had only appeared in an episode of As the World Turns prior to being cast in his video.)
On TikTok, she poked fun at her dancing in the 1984 video while also participating in one of the latest trends. Cox took to the social media platform to share a video — captioned “1980’s dancing…in the dark” — with herself dancing to “Smalltown Boy.” Over the video are the words, “Asking my mom how she danced in the 80’s.”

A decade before Monica Geller came into our living rooms, Courteney Cox was just Bruce Springsteen’s biggest fan.
The Friends alum threw it back to her appearance in Bruce Springsteen’s 1984 music video for ‘Dancing in the Dark’ as she jumped on a TikTok trend that asks parents how they danced during the decade.
“1980’s dancing…in the dark,” Cox captioned the video.
In the clip, also posted to Cox’s Instagram page, she begins dancing to the 1984 synth-pop hit ‘Smalltown Boy’ by Bronski Beat, which is commonly used with the social trend.
Looking uncomfortable during her dance, Cox then strips off her hoodie to reveal the same Springsteen t-shirt she wore in the “Dancing in the Dark” video as the track changes and she recreates her dance.

Sometime in 1984, when E Street Band drummer Max Weinberg saw a bunch of potential covers for Bruce Springsteen’s next album, he instantly noticed the Annie Leibovitz shot of the singer’s jeans-clad rear end. “My comment, jokingly, was ‘I like that one because that’s the view I always have,'” Weinberg says in the new episode of our Rolling Stone Music Now podcast. “Everybody laughed, and then they picked that shot. And it was a steamroller after that.”

It seems that fans of Bruce Springsteen are going to have to wait a while longer to catch the legendary singer-songwriter live.
In 2023, Springsteen postponed several dates of his tour due to peptic ulcer disease, with the promise that he’ll be back on the road as soon as he was alright, and this year, he’s delaying more to listen to his doctor’s advice. Here’s what’s going on exactly with the ‘Dancing in the Dark’ hitmaker.

There have already been several high points on Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band’s 2024 tour, and Sunday night’s show in Columbus, Ohio, provided another one.
The Boss and co. turned in an epic three-hour, 30-song set that saw “Youngstown,” “Streets of Fire,” and “I’m Goin’ Down” all performed live for the first time since at least 2017. The choice to kick off the show with “Youngstown” was especially appropriate as it was written about Youngstown, Ohio, located just two-and-half hours away from Columbus. Meanwhile, “Streets of Fire” has only been performed by Springsteen 23 times since 1978, and not since 2017.

Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band have added a new date to their North American tour.
After their Phoenix, Arizona, show on March 14, they will go to Las Vegas on March 22 to perform at the T-Mobile Arena.
Last September, tour dates were forced to reschedule after Springsteen’s peptic ulcer disease. Shortly after announcing the rescheduled U.S. dates, concert dates for Canada were also declared.
Springsteen began his music career in 1964, but his popularity didn’t rise until 1975, when he and the E Street Band did a ten-show stand over five nights in New York City. Rolling Stone later included the performances in their “50 Moments That Change Rock and Roll” list.
The current tour is scheduled to run until November 22, 2024, in Vancouver, Canada.

When you think about it, "Frasier" is one of the most unlikely success stories in TV history. Running from 1993 to 2004, the show is one of the most beloved sitcoms of all time and has recently returned some 20 years after it went off-air for a revival series currently streaming on Paramount+.
But a lot had to happen in order for this impressive multi-decade run to pan out. After the show on which Frasier Crane first debuted, "Cheers," almost crashed and burned during its first season, it went on to become the most celebrated sitcom of the '80s and still enjoys a legacy as one of the finest TV shows ever. Being a superstar doesn’t always mean having chart hits.
From massive rock groups and boy bands to iconic vocalists and singer-songwriters, there are countless acts that have managed to inspire generations of entertainers and win over millions of fans without having ever actually notched a No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Over the years, there have been some especially surprising icons who would seem to have a few No. 1s under their belt, but for whatever reason, their songs never managed to wind up sitting at the top spot of the chart.
Not having a No. 1 doesn’t take away from these talented artists’ repertoire, and it’s pretty interesting to see how charts don’t always mean everything when it comes to a musician’s success and impact on the culture.

The cast of Friends used collective bargaining to level out their salaries. As an ensemble cast, they wanted to be treated as equals as their wages grew from $22K per episode to $1M. Each cast member of Friends earned around $90 million in base salary alone from the show before the addition of any backend bonuses and ongoing royalties from syndication, racking each actor up an impressive net worth. For 10 seasons, the Friends cast was considered the gold standard of sitcom television, but where do they stand financially today? Here is the net worth of the Friends cast ranked from richest to poorest.

When writer-director Rebecca Miller was playing back her latest film “She Came to Me,” she felt it was missing a compelling song. The National’s singer-turned-composer Bryce Dessner was sitting next to her when the thought entered: Bruce Springsteen would be perfect.
Dessner was drawing inspiration from Marisa Tomei’s character Katrina, who he describes as “a muse and this gutsy character. She’s a miraculous, amazing and powerful woman. She just felt like she could be a character from a Springsteen song,” he says.
Miller, who used the Springsteen hit “Dancing in the Dark” in her 2015 film “Maggie’s Plan,” loved the idea of Springsteen writing the end credits song. “It was an absurd idea, but it just came to me,” Dessner tells Variety. “What would normally feel insurmountable to most people is not the thing that occurs to Rebecca first, but she said, ‘Oh, that’s interesting.'”

As of late, Bruce Springsteen has received some criticism from fans for sticking to a rigid setlist during the E Street Band’s ongoing world tour. No one who attended The Boss’ hometown show in E. Rutherford, NJ on Sunday left complaining though; Springsteen deviated from the tour’s traditional setlist by subbing in seven fan favorites.
Over the course of 28-song performance, Springsteen and E Street Band treated fans to renditions of “Two Hearts,” Something in the Night,” “Spirit in the Night,” “Atlantic City,” “Jungleland,” “Detroit Medley,” and “Jersey Girl.”
All told, it made for easily the best setlist of the tour. The second half of the show was particularly epic, as the band finished the main set with “The Rising,” “Badlands,” and “Thunder Road,” and followed that up with a seven-song encore featuring “Jungleland,” “Born to Run,” “Rosalita (Come Out Tonight),” “Detroit Medley,” “Dancing in the Dark,” “Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out,...

The panelists on “The Masked Singer” are rubbing their hands together as they try to figure out the identity of the secret celebrity hiding inside the Mantis costume. Do You have any ideas? Read on for the judges’ “The Masked Singer” Mantis guesses.

Everyone has to start somewhere and exactly where that place may be is often of pretty dubious quality or (at the very least) rather surprising for some of today’s biggest names in the film industry. For example, we all know Jennifer Aniston had her start with Leprechaun, a film she’d probably rather forget (although we think it’s a lot of fun). Now, with current streaming services pulling all kinds of older films and television shows into their libraries, fans can get the chance to see some of those questionable choices that most likely were made to pay the bills. Here are a few of our favorites:
Elisabeth Moss in Surburban Commando (1991)
While not her very first credit, this is the Mad Men & Handmaid’s Tale star’s first feature film and it’s a doozy. For anyone not familiar with it, it’s an action comedy starring...

Lollapalooza 2022 kicked off on Thursday in Chicago’s Grant Park with headliners Metallica, Lil Baby, and Caroline Polachek. Like the variety offered at the topline of the fest, the day featured an eclectic mix of music. From TikTok stars to rock royalty and the return of the Kidzapalooza stage for the first time in three years, there was something for every age group on Day 1. And if there was an underlying theme beyond appealing to a wide swath of fans, a handful of artists with famous kinfolk are taking center stage throughout the four-day festival.

At the young age of 12, Coco Arquette has landed another music video -- and her mother couldn't be prouder.
Courteney Cox and David Arquette's 12-year-old daughter, along with aspiring actor Matthew Rc Taylor, star in indie band Monogem's music video for their song "Wild" -- and wild they get.
Watch: Courteney Cox and David Arquette's Daughter Coco Is All Grown Up!
The dimly lit video begins with Coco watching her onscreen mother pulling out of the driveway and her sneaking Matthew into the house. The two then start running amuck, putting on makeup, dressing in fur coats, dancing around the house and jumping into the pool. While most of the video appears to be just two kids having some harmless fun, it ends with Coco and Matthew, with smudged makeup, riding their bikes to a liquor store and pulling masks over their faces with the intent to rob the place.
