Beyond the French-speaking world, Antoine de Caunes is almost solely known for his quirky presentation of Rapido and Eurotrash on late-night British TV.
Therefore when the rare opportunity to see him in one of his French film roles, complete with English subtitles, came up, it presented a reasonable way to while away 80 minutes despite the film's terrible rating on IMDB.
It's fair to say that there are a few laugh out loud moments, but they are too thin on the ground, and despite its brisk length, Les 2 papas et la maman begins to drag before an hour is up and its ending is so predictable from a long way out.
If you want that warm 90s French comedy atmosphere, there are better places to go but if you do choose to watch Les 2 papas et la maman it is probably so forgotten that you may be the only person on planet Earth doing so at that moment.
