You can't buy love.....
Karobaar is essentially about a couple which in this case is Juhi Chawla and Rishi Kapoor. The two of them struggle on with their lives with the little money that they have. All of that changes when Anil Kapoor, a very rich and wealthy man steps in. He gets between the two of them and tries to win over Juhi no matter how much money it takes. The basic message of this film is "You can't buy love." Love doesn't have a price, it is based on the matters of relationships and all that stuff.
The movie was fairly good, though I did expect it to be a little better. All characters played their roles well and the music was pretty nice too. It's not really the kind of film you'd want to watch multiple times, but it did entertain me for about three hours! I couldn't ask for more than that!
Overall, Karobaar deserves a 5/10!

Boring
I viewed the film at an accelerated pace on YouTube, wrapping it up in just 15-20 minutes. My recollection of it was triggered by a childhood poster memory. The film's quality is uneven, particularly in its latter half. The casting of Rishi Kapoor opposite the lovely Juhi Chawla feels mismatched due to the apparent age difference. The movie suffers from inconsistencies and abruptly jumps two decades ahead without much explanation. Anil Kapoor's performance stands out positively. Unfortunately, the conclusion is notably underwhelming, and I found myself losing interest within just 15 minutes. Why Juhi Chawla did this movie? Don't understand.

Everything Old is New Again
When this was released, it was already dated, with scenes that had been shot 8 years earlier. However, for viewers now, we are watching old films anyway. Consider (as many reviewers have said, that it would have been a hit if released earlier. What does it matter now that it was released in 2000 instead of 1993 or 4?
A stronger story than I expected. If the IMDb synopsis of Indecent Proposal is correct, this is much more than a remake of that movie, because the moral twist of an Indian version pervades the film in ways that make it far more interesting. And for folks who can't believe that a woman like the heroine could fall for a dumpy looking Rishi Kapoor, I submit that women do not always go for money or good looks. From time to time we are attracted by character and personality in ways that neither money nor hot looks can conquer.
Worth looking at.
