And you what else is back? The Rabbit's Foot, the dangerous biological hazard from "Mission: Impossible III," makes an appearance in the "Final Reckoning" trailer, leaving us to mull over its fate since we last saw it in Ethan's hands and what its return could mean for the conclusion to the "Mission: Impossible" films.

Tom Cruise is back as Ethan Hunt for what could be the last time. On Monday, Paramount revealed the official title for “Mission: Impossible 8,” which is slated for theaters in May. The title, “Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning,” along with the general “it has all come down to this” vibe of the trailer, may lead you to believe this will be the final “M:i” film, but that’s not necessarily the case. Cruise doesn’t seem to be ready to hang up his running shoes yet.
While the fate of the franchise is a little bit up in the air, there’s no question about whether or not 62-year-old Cruise has still got it. In the teaser trailer that reveals the title, Cruise is seen sprinting through multiple locations, in his underwear grappling with a knife-wielding assassin, and hanging off the wing of a single engine plane. He...

It’s been three decades since some of Hollywood’s hottest young actors, as well as an up-and-coming young actress, came together to surprise us with a sensual and thrilling gothic horror flick. “Interview with the Vampire” hit theaters on November 11, 1994, almost 20 years after Anne Rice’s debut novel was published. Read on for more about the “Interview with the Vampire” 30th anniversary.
Rice wrote “Interview with the Vampire” after the death of her five-year-old daughter from leukemia, reworking a short story she had written a few years prior. The homoerotic novel about vampires Louis de Pointe du Lac and his sire Lester de Lioncourt was first published in 1976, with the film rights obtained at that time. After years in development hell, Warner Bros. secured the rights, and brought in “The Crying Game” director Neil Jordan, who rewrote Rice’s script, although she retained credit. When Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One opened last year, it was widely deemed a financial disappointment, even after earning $570.6 million worldwide.
Not helping matters, of course, was the fact its budget ballooned to a reported $291 million, a staggering sum which is thought to have done irreparable damage to Tom Cruise's relationship with Paramount Pictures.
The studio dropped the "Dead Reckoning Part Two" subtitle from the sequel a while ago - likely to distance Mission: Impossible 8 from its predecessor - and we now know that it's instead going to be called Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning.
That was revealed on a cool new poster which has since been accompanied by an emotional teaser trailer reflecting on Tom Cruise's incredible legacy as Ethan Hunt. Tom Cruise is one of the biggest action stars of all time and also one of the most versatile actors of all time. And while most people will think of Top Gun or Mission: Impossible, Cruise also had some other intriguing roles such as those in Rain Man, Jerry Maguire, or Minority Report.
But, we know that if there is one project that could be called “his,” it is Mission: Impossible. Cruise has been the pillar of the lucrative franchise since 1996 and is now preparing for the release of the franchise’s eighth movie, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, which is going to be a sequel to Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One.
In light of that, the movie’s first trailer has just been released – and we can confirm that it is absolutely amazing. We can also confirm that the movie’s release date has been set,...

Actor Tom Cruise married actress Mimi Rogers in 1987 and the following year appeared in the romantic comedy-drama film Cocktail. In the film, Cruise shares some steamy scenes with actress Gina Gershon, who plays Coral in the movie. In an interview, Gershon opened up about filming the intimate scenes with Cruise.

Gershon made the surprising admission that Cruise’s then-wife Rogers was on the set during the filming of those scenes. Given the sizzling chemistry between Gershon and Cruise in the movie, it is easy to imagine how hard it must’ve been for them to shoot the scenes given the circumstances. However, Gershon had a mostly pleasant experience, and here is what she had to say.

Mission: Impossible 8 has been given the official title Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning – and there’s a trailer to prove it.
We’ve been following the production story of Mission: Impossible 8 for a while now here at Film Stories. The film’s price tag has grown considerably due to the small matters of a global pandemic and extensive Hollywood strikes, but we have a feeling there’s a good reason for Paramount splurging on the latest sequel.
The studio has released the first trailer, and revealed that its full title is now Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning. The word “final” feels… well, final. Could this truly be the end of Ethan Hunt?
It’s all very dramatic, and eagle-eyed fans will notice that the trailer shows a number of previous Mission: Impossible locations, only adding to the inescapable feeling of finality. Should we get our hankies ready?...

Tom Cruise’s famous spy series will come to a dramatic end with “Mission: Impossible—The Final Reckoning,” which will be released in theaters on May 23, 2025. The eighth movie in the long-running action series looks like it will be an explosive conclusion.
The first trailer and image for the movie were shared by Cruise on social media, hinting at a dangerous AI program called “The Entity” that needs to be stopped. The actor showed how emotional the movie was by writing in the caption, “Every choice has led to this.”
Following on from 2023’s “Dead Reckoning,” the new movie will continue with Ethan Hunt racing against time to keep The Entity from getting into the wrong hands. Cruise will be joined by newbie Hannah Waddingham and returning cast members Simon Pegg and Ving Rhames.
Christopher McQuarrie, who has directed the last three movies in the series, will also direct this last one.

Good things come to those who wait, and we’ve been waiting a long, long time for “Mission: Impossible 8” to get a title. Well, we got that and more on Monday. (Ethan Hunt is an Army alum — Happy Veterans Day to all!) If you need a catch up on the previous films, here’s IndieWire’s ranking of the “Mission: Impossible” movies.
In the new film’s teaser trailer, Hunt (Tom Cruise) can be seen sprinting through a variety of landscapes and hardscapes — you simply do not mess with the Cruise formula. At one point, Hunt is running after an airplane that he presumably catches. At another he’s knife-fighting in his underwear; if you weren’t already reminded, from him rappelling into the Paris Olympics Closing Ceremony, Tom Cruise is in his 60s.

After back-to-back Mission: Impossible sequels were announced all the way back in 2019, the culmination of Christopher McQuarrie and Tom Cruise’s ambitious project will now finally be seen over six years later. Following pandemic and strike delays along with a title change, the eighth, seemingly concluding outing for Ethan Hunt has officially been unveiled as Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning and the first trailer has arrived today ahead of a May 23, 2025 release.

Ethan Hunt is back ... for the final time? The trailer for the next "Mission: Impossible" film is here, and it brings with it a new title that raises an eyebrow or two. The flick is called "Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning," and the word "final" in there seems to imply this will be the last adventure for the Impossible Mission Force. At one point, this movie was going to be called "Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two," as the previous entry was "Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One." But "Dead Reckoning Part One" underperformed at the box office, and studio Paramount quickly dropped the "Part One" from the title by the time the film hit digital and Blu-ray.
The title may be different, but "The Final Reckoning" will still be a continuation of the previous film, as "Dead Reckoning" ended on a cliffhanger with villain Gabriel (Esai Morales) getting away.

The first “Mission: Impossible 8” trailer is here, and it looks like we could be reaching the end of the road for Tom Cruise’s Ethan Hunt. The film, which is now titled “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning,” plays on the nostalgia for the franchise, including footage from the Brian De Palma-directed 1996 “Mission: Impossible” movie that started it all.
Christopher McQuarrie, who has directed every “Mission” movie since “Rogue Nation,” is back in the director’s chair this time around for a sequel that went through a bit of an evolution. Initially, “Mission: Impossible 7” and “Mission: Impossible 8” were shot back-to-back and titled “Dead Reckoning – Part One” and “Dead Reckoning – Part Two.” But after the disappointing box office performance of the seventh film, it was retitled for home release to just “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning” and “M:i 8” got a new title. Thus, “The Final Reckoning” was born.

Tom Cruise is a very powerful celebrity in terms of influence and popularity, but many are probably unaware of how much grip he has on the casting of his own projects. Obviously, this means he can forbid actors from leaving or let them go just as easily.

It only goes to show how much he values the art and process of filmmaking. After all, it’s taxing to find actors for movies only for them to leave. Two celebrities had their fair share of dealing with Cruise, but they had different experiences.

Tom Cruise is one of the most legendary Hollywood veterans of all time, having delivered more than just some extraordinary performances and being the recipient of innumerable awards and nominations. For one who made his debut in 1981 through Endless Love, he found his breakthrough sooner than most – within two years – after starring in 1983’s Risky Business.

Simon Kinberg’s career has taken him everywhere from the X-Men universe to Star Wars Rebels. His body of work, nevertheless, remains largely divisive. Ask fans of any franchise how they feel about a revival at his hands, and they would not be particularly pleased by the idea.

But whether he’s writing a detective thriller in Sherlock Holmes or launching some old-school mutants into battle, his projects still bring something memorable to the table. With Kinberg signed on to create a new Star Wars trilogy for Lucasfilm, sparking some major excitement (and a little bit of nervousness), let’s count down his top ten movies where he took on the roles of either a writer or director – sometimes even both.
10. Fantastic Four (2015)
The less said about the Fantastic Four, the better. Maybe it is just one of those comics that shouldn’t be turned into a movie.

Let’s talk about Tom Cruise, shall we? You know, that guy who’s been running on our screens since forever. From his breakout role in Taps (1981) to becoming Hollywood’s go-to action superstar, Cruise has pretty much nailed the whole “movie star” thing. With mega-hits like Top Gun (1986), Mission: Impossible (1996), and Jerry Maguire (1996) he’s basically become a one-man box office machine, casually raking in billions of dollars worldwide.

Summer blockbusters like “Deadpool & Wolverine” and “Twisters” weren’t enough to keep AMC Entertainment from posting a $20.7 million loss during its most recent quarter. It compared unfavorably to the $12.3 million in profit that the world’s largest theater chain posted in the year-ago period.
At the same time, revenue at AMC fell 4.1% to $1.3 billion, down from the $1.4 billion that AMC reported in the year-ago period, which saw the dual releases of “Barbie” and “Oppenheimer,” a double-billing that turbocharged the box office and inspired the portmanteau “Barbenheimer.” The company reported a loss per-share of 7 cents, compared to earnings of 8 cents in the year-ago quarter.
Attendance at the theater chain also declined, dropping from 73.6 million to 65.1 million on the weaker slate of films. Consequently, admissions revenue dropped from $798 million to $744.2 million, but revenue from concessions grew from $482.7 million to $490.4 million.
Other films released during the three-month period ending in September included “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” and “Alien: Romulus.

I love spy movies. Realistic spy movies, unrealistic spy movies, whatever—you name it and I’m there. If the entertainment quotient isn’t undermined too much by the government propaganda, you have my curiosity and my attention. I have watched the Bond movies, the Mission: Impossible films, the Bourne movies, the Kingsman films, the Yrf Spy Universe stuff, the Jack Ryan movies, Munich, Bridge of Spies, the Spy Kids movies, and more. But for some reason, when this genre enters the small screen and takes the episodic route, it loses my attention. I liked the first season of Jack Ryan, but with every subsequent installment, it got worse. Mr. & Mrs. Smith was horrible. The difference in quality between the first and second seasons of The Family Man was hilarious. Now, we have a TV series franchise in the form of Citadel. Ironically, I have no memory of watching the...

The word “epic” gets thrown around a lot, but in the case of Grendel, a live-action retelling of John Gardner’s 1971 novel of the same name, it’s not hyperbole. Writer-director Robert D. Krzykowski adapted the book, a modern classic that retells the old English epic poem Beowulf from the perspective of the monster Grendel, who terrorizes the kingdom of Hrothgar of the Danes for 12 years.
The cast is epic, too, with Jeff Bridges as the titular monster, Bryan Cranston as King Hrothgar, Dave Bautista as the warrior Beowulf and T Bone Burnett as the blind, harp-playing Shaper.
Jim Henson’s Creature Shop is doing the creature work and design. Filming is set to begin in Europe next year.
Palisades Park Pictures is handling international sales; CAA Media Finance and UTA Independent Film Group co-rep rights for North America.

Although his breakthrough came more than a decade ago through Risky Business (1983), 1984’s Interview with the Vampire still plays a significant role in Tom Cruise’s resume. When you think of action heroes, names like Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Sylvester Stallone immediately spring to mind. But if we’re talking about taking action to the next level—Tom Cruise is in a league of his own. His portrayal of Ethan Hunt in the Mission: Impossible series has become the stuff of legend. Since 1996, the franchise has been a high-speed thrill ride, mixing espionage, high-octane chases, and gravity-defying stunts, all with Cruise at the wheel.

The journey of renowned Hollywood celebrities like Tom Cruise needs no elaboration. His rise to stardom after he became the face of Mission: Impossible earned him global recognition. While his acting career is much talked about, his dating life is no less thrilling than his action-packed films. Remember when Tom Cruise turned the Hollywood game upside down in Tropic Thunder? Forget his usual high-octane heroics; in this 2008 gem, he traded in his action star cape for the over-the-top persona of Les Grossman, a studio exec you’d never want to meet in a dark alley. Seriously, it was bold—and honestly, a little bizarre. That’s what makes it brilliant.
Cruise waltzed into the film like a whirlwind, and one of the standout moments was his hilariously outrageous dance to Ludacris’s “Get Back.” Here’s the kicker: Cruise needed a big favor from the rapper to nail that iconic scene. With his Mission: Impossible saga, Cruise ditched his Oscar-baiting filmography from the 90s and transitioned into a full-time action hero, earning the title of the world’s only remaining true movie star.

However, separating art from the artist is a thing of the past, and for Tom Cruise, popular culture’s fondness for dissecting art with moral, political, and social implications bears a heavy price. His stardom and status may amass billions of fans and impress the studio execs with box office earnings, but there might be someone who refuses to be swayed by all the hype and ruckus.

Tom Cruise’s relationship with Nicole Kidman was one of Hollywood’s iconic love stories. From being the industry’s power couple in the 90s, they were married for over a decade, and their on and off-screen chemistry was unforgettable. Cruise found himself with Rebecca Ferguson in Mission: Impossible years after their split. Since the actor has always garnered much attention for his personal life, he reportedly grew to have an infatuation with Ferguson.
Although Cruise has always desired privacy in his personal life, his off-screen romance with Ferguson didn’t go unnoticed by his fans.
