This is another film from the Brazilian director of "Love Strange Love". Like his previous effort this combines surprisingly high production values, pseudo-classiness, and admittedly beautiful Brazilian women with a plot that is highly questionable if not downright sleazy. The protagonist is a dissolute and unlikeable middle-age businessman who spends all his time with two young and attractive paid mistresses. He takes his two paid dates out to his island villa managed by an unusually attractive housekeeper. Then his adult daughter shows up with her attractive friend. He spends the rest of the movie having sex with all these women--and I do mean ALL of these women.
It is a lot more believable that a wealthy middle age businessman would get all this hot sex action from beautiful women than it is with the 12-year-old boy in "Love Strange Love". Still the incest angle is pretty sleazy, even if the actress playing the daughter is the prettiest of the five Brazilian beauties here. The father-daughter incest is at least a little more palatable than the mother-son incest of "Love Strange Love", if only because everyone here is an adult. HOWEVER, it is pretty hard to get past the very first scene of the movie, a flashback where a much younger version of the daughter comes into her father's room and starts massaging his, um, foot in a not-so-innocent fashion. The incest doesn't bother me that much (since I don't personally have a hot Brazilian daughter), but I draw the line at pedophilia.
This scene is fortunately never repeated, but it really serves only to make the protagonist even MORE unlikeable than he would be otherwise. The problem is movie goes on for a good two hours after that, and despite the beautiful women and beautiful scenery, the inevitable result is boredom. Personally, I would have rather see a more HONESTLY sleazy movie rather than one that manages to be both creepy and dull and has such an unsympathetic protagonist.
