The show has been shot on five cruise ships so far: MS Vistafjord (1981-1982), MS Astor (1983-1984), MS Berlin (1986-1998), MS Deutschland (1999-2014) and MS Amadea (since 2015).
Heide Keller is the only one of the cast who has been in das Traumschiff (Loveboat) since the begin. She started in 1981 and will leave the role of chefhostess Beatrice at the end of 2017.
Das Traumschiff translates from German as "The Boat of Dreams".
