The car chase scene at the beginning of the film was actually taken from the film Striking Distance (1993).
Most of the footage of the action scenes at the refinery, and the fire scenes leaving the hospital, are from the 1979 movie City on Fire. You can spot the difference between the 70's and 2000's era.
Mindi, played by Melissa Brasselle, says she will name her child either Rocky, if it's a boy, or Hayley, if it's a girl. In real life, Brasselle's nickname is Rocky and her daughter's name is Hayley.
