Dancing With the Stars‘ “Halloween Nightmares” week has turned into a nightmare for judge Carrie Ann Inaba, who has been slammed by viewers for her “unfair” and “biased” scoring. Tuesday’s (October 29) episode saw the seven remaining couples performing routines revolving around their biggest fears. It was a night of high scoring, as Inaba handed out 10s to Dwight Howard, Danny Amendola, Joey Graziadei, Stephen Nedoroscik, and Jenn Tran (who was eliminated at the end of the episode). The 2000s had a bunch of television shows that captivated the hearts of millions of silver screen enthusiasts around the world. Dexter was one show that had people glued to their television sets back in the day. Released on October 1, 2006, just in time to set the tone for Halloween that year, Dexter had a lengthy run until airing its final episode on September 22, 2013.

The final season of the pilot series had Dexter Morgan (played by Michael C. Hall) fake his death in a hurricane to escape the growing suspicion of him being a serial killer. The character then escapes to a nearby town from Miami, picking up a new identity to hide from the law. This inspired a follow-up series called Dexter: New Blood (2021).

However, Paramount and Showtime are coming together to produce a new series that will reflect Dexter’s upbringing.

A little over a year ago, Showtime announced that they were ordering a series – then known as Dexter: Origins, now known as Dexter: Original Sin – that would serve as a prequel series to their popular show Dexter, which finished its eight season initial run back in 2013, then recently came back for a new season (called Dexter: New Blood) that appeared to wrap things up, but apparently didn’t. Dexter: Original Sin went into production a few months ago, and now a first look trailer has arrived online, along with a premiere date that’s much sooner than I was expecting. The trailer can be seen in the embed above, and the premiere date is December 13th on the Paramount+ streaming service, with the Showtime premiere to follow on December 15th.

“Dexter: Original Sin” will hit Paramount+ with Showtime on Dec. 13 before making its on-air debut on Dec. 15, according to a new teaser.

The show is a ’90s-set prequel that chronicles a young Dexter’s (Patrick Gibson) early days as an “avenging serial killer.” Michael C. Hall — who played the titular character in the core series — will narrate the 10-episode first season.

“I am a killer, but I wasn’t born this way,” Hall says as Dexter in the Thursday teaser. “I was made by my history, by the people around me. They say it takes a village to raise a killer.”

Showtime is prepping to add to its expansive Dexter Universe yet again! Dexter Morgan is coming back in a new sequel series to Dexter: New Blood titled Dexter: Resurrection, and yes, Michael C. Hall will be reprising his role as the titular serial killer.

The announcement came during the recent San Diego Comic Con panel for the previously announced prequel series Dexter: Original Sin, which is currently in production. Hall, who also serves as an executive producer on Dexter: Original Sin, made a surprise appearance during the panel alongside executive producer/showrunner Clyde Phillips to drop the news.

In addition to Dexter Morgan's return, the panel revealed that the Golden Globe Award-winning actor will lend his voice to Dexter's "inner voice" in the prequel show, which features actor Patrick Gibson taking over for Hall to play a young Dexter set in 1990s Miami, Florida.

During the ongoing San Diego Comic-Con, Hall appeared at the Dexter: Original Sin panel and surprised fans with the announcement of a new sequel series. The newly announced Dexter: Resurrection is reportedly a sequel to New Blood, which was released in 2021 as a sequel to the original show.

New Blood didn’t do a great job in terms of saving the dumpster fire finale of the original series, but it did a few things right in terms of course correction. Moreover, the show ended with the death of Hall’s main character, which means Resurrection may go out of its way to bring back Dexter Morgan from the dead.

Paramount Global said Monday that it will increase prices for its Paramount+ tiers with and without Showtime to take effect August 20, although the essential plan hike will only impact new subscribers.

The company said the Paramount+ with Showtime plan will increase by $1 to $12.99 per month for both existing and new customers, while the cost of the Paramount+ Essential plan will rise by $2 to $7.99 per month for all new subscribers.

The Paramount+ Limited Commercial Plan will increase by $1 to $7.99 for current subscribers.

The new pricing will be effective for all new Paramount+ customers and for existing Paramount+ with Showtime subscribers with their next billing date on or after September 20.

Existing monthly subscribers to Paramount+ Essential will continue their subscription at the current price of $5.99 and pricing of both annual subscription plans will remain unchanged.

Patrick Dempsey, the veteran of Grey’s Anatomy, has joined the Paramount+ Showtime show as a series regular.

NBC is moving forward with a pilot order for the one-hour drama “Wolf,” hailing from “Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin” executive producer Michael Grassi and Berlanti Productions. The project, from Warner Bros. Television, is inspired by the life and works of British neurologist Oliver Sacks.

Specifically, the series draws from Sacks’ books “The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat” (1985) and “An Anthropologist on Mars” (1995). The logline is as follows: “Inspired by Oliver Sacks’ extraordinary life and work, ‘Wolf’ follows a revolutionary, larger-than-life neurologist and his team of interns as they explore the last great frontier, the human mind, while also grappling with their own relationships and mental health.”
