At a Dragon Con convention in 2013, Peter Davison said this series was his favourite role on television.
Peter Davison revealed in an interview that the series had no rehearsal period, the actors just turned up having learned their lines, the scenes were blocked and they just did it. Davison said "the end result was just as good, if not better" than All Creatures Great & Small (1978), which had been heavily rehearsed before going into the studio.
Both Peter Davison and Sarah Smart made guest appearances in Amanda Redman's later series New Tricks (2003).
Sarah Smart would later appear opposite Matt Smith in the 6th season of "Doctor Who" which Smith played the Eleventh Doctor. Peter Davison played the Fifth Doctor.
