If you've heard anything about the new documentary "Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV", you might have heard that your childhood is about to be ruined by watching. While the Investigation Discovery series will certainly reframe your cherished memories of wiling the afternoons away watching the golden age of Nickelodeon, the truth is that your childhood will not be ruined by watching this documentary. Many of the kids involved in making those shows, however, actually had their childhoods ruined.

"Quiet on Set" is a truly upsetting four-episode documentary series now streaming on Max (the streaming service that combines Discovery and HBO media). The show systematically lays out what is a striking failure on the part of Nickelodeon and showrunner Dan Schneider to safeguard both the children and many of the adults under their employ. But that really doesn't get to the heart of what is so unbelievably distressing about this documentary.

Drake Bell is calling out a trio of fellow Nickelodeon grads for making light of his childhood trauma.

In a TikTok Live, the cast of Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide could be seen laughing about the recent revelations that Bell suffered sexual abuse at the hands of convicted child sex offender Brian Peck, a former dialogue coach and extra on The Amanda Show and All That. The embed below shows Ned’s Declassified star Devon Werkheiser yukking it up with his former co-stars, who initially remain off screen.

Drake Bell has found a way to cope with his deep-seated trauma.

The former Nickelodeon star — who will detail the sexual abuse he suffered at the hands of convicted child sex offender Brian Peck in Monday’s episodes of the heart-wrenching docuseries Quiet on Set (airing on Investigation Discovery and streaming on Max at 9 pm Et) — has released an autobiographical music video that recounts not only his grooming, but his own subsequent legal troubles.

Nickelodeon is reimagining its Emmy Award-winning series The Fairly OddParents by launching the animated series Fairly Oddparents: A New Wish this spring.

The network promises the new iteration will extend the fairy universe for a new generation while honoring the original series, The Fairly OddParents, which ran from 2001-2017 and was created by Butch Hartman.

The 20-episode new series follows Hazel Wells (Ashleigh Crystal Hairston) a 10-year-old who has just moved to the big city of Dimmadelphia because of her dad’s new job. On top of being in an unfamiliar environment, it’s the first time she’s been without her brother, Antony, who’s just left for college, leaving her lonely and unsure of herself. All that changes when the pink-and-green-haired neighbors next door reveal that they are no ordinary neighbors — they’re fairy godparents Cosmo (Daran Norris) and Wanda (Susanne Blakeslee).

A new iteration of “The Fairly OddParents” has been ordered to series at Nickelodeon.

Titled “Fairly OddParents: A New Wish,” the new series will see the return of voice actors Susanne Blakeslee and Daran Norris as Wanda and Cosmo, respectively. Nickelodeon has ordered 20 episodes of the series, which will debut on the cable channel this spring. The series will also be available on Netflix internationally later this year.

Blakeslee and Harris will be joined by Ashleigh Crystal Hairston, who will voice the new main character Hazel Wells. The official description for the series states:

“In ‘Fairly OddParents: A New Wish,’ ten-year-old Hazel Wells has just moved to the big city of Dimmadelphia because of her dad’s new job. On top of being in an unfamiliar environment, it’s the first time she’s been without her brother, Antony, who’s just left for college, leaving her lonely and unsure of herself.

Nickelodeon’s Fairly OddParents revival promises wands and wings and floaty crowny things… but not Timmy Turner.

The children’s network has handed a series order to Fairly OddParents: A New Wish, which is being described as a “reimagining” of the Emmy-winning cartoon. The revival will premiere on Nickelodeon in the U.S. and stream internationally on Netflix at an as-yet-unspecified date.

"Fairly OddParents" may not be quite as universally recognizable as Nickelodeon's flagship series, but the very funny series about wish-granting fairy godparents that only kids can see seems to be just as prolific. Though the original animated series last aired in 2017, live-action movies and a live-action Paramount+ spinoff series have kept the world of Cosmo (Daran Norris) and Wanda (Susanne Blakeslee) alive over the years. Now, thanks to a report from What's On Netflix (via Cbr), rumors are swirling that another animated series set within the same cartoon universe as the original may be in the works at Netflix.

The original run of "Fairly OddParents" followed spiky-haired pre-teen Timmy Turner (Tara Strong) through a not-so-great adolescence that suddenly got a lot better when he discovered he had fairy godparents to help him through. The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) has announced its 2023 Gold and Silver Circle inductees, honorees who have significantly contributed to children’s television.

The inductees will be honored at the second annual Children’s & Family Emmy Awards in Los Angeles on Dec. 17.

According to NATAS, “the Gold and Silver Circle is a society of honor. Inductees have performed distinguished service within the industry, setting standards for achievement, mentoring, leadership, and professional accolades for 50 or 25 years, respectively. Paramount+’s “iCarly” reboot will not return for a fourth season, Variety has confirmed.

“’iCarly’ will not be returning for a fourth season on Paramount+. The series had a great three-season run and delivered on what fans really wanted to see with Carly and Freddie finally getting together. We want to thank the entire cast, the writers, directors and producers along with the whole crew for their dedication, creativity and talent,” said a Paramount+ spokesperson.

Ordered in 2020, the rebooted series picked up with adult Carly Shay (Miranda Cosgrove), 10 years olders, as she reunited with her brother Spencer (Jerry Trainer) and longtime friend and cameraman Freddie (Nathan Kress), and sets out to revamp her popular web show with the help of old and new friends. Disney Branded Television announced today that Danny Glover will play Santa Claus in its forthcoming original movie, The Naughty Nine. The teaser for the project, which will be released on the Disney Channel annd Disney+, and the first photo of Glover in character were also released. See below for those.

In “The Naughty Nine,” mischievous fifth grader Andy (Winslow Fegley) finds himself without a present from Santa on Christmas morning. Realizing he must have landed on the “naughty list” and feeling unfairly maligned, Andy pulls together a team of eight other naughty listers to help him execute an elaborate heist in Santa’s Village at the North Pole to get the presents they feel they deserve. Along the way, the group comes to realize that the very best way off the naughty list is to redirect their unique talents for good ― instead of mischief.

Before SpongeBob SquarePants and The Fairly OddParents, there was Rugrats.

Alongside fellow “Nicktoons” Doug and The Ren & Stimpy Show, Rugrats premiered Aug. 11, 1991 on Nickelodeon and helped establish an animated storytelling dynasty on the cable network. Created by Arlene Klasky, Gábor Csupó, and Paul Germain, the show was by far the most successful of Nickelodeon’s early offerings and helped set the stage for the Patrick Stars and Timmy Turners to come.

The cartoon followed the daily lives of toddlers Tommy Pickles, Chuckie Finster, and twins Phil and Lil DeVille as they attempted to make sense of the adult world while also indulging in their imaginations for some larger-than-life adventures. Though the children’s parents also featured as secondary characters, Tommy and friends could only communicate with one another in their own unique baby language.

As the Nickelodeon Animation Studio celebrates its 25th anniversary, it’s clearly blossomed from being a small but formidable toon house to a world-class studio with dozens of productions in process and executive Ramsey Naito at the helm. And Naito’s plans include growing relationships with creators who can speak to Nick’s audience.

In the last five to six years, the studio has expanded to include Nick Animation West (Burbank), Nick Animation East (New York) and offices in Hollywood on the Paramount lot. When Naito was named president of Nickelodeon Animation in 2020 (she has since become president of Paramount Animation as well), there were nine shows in production at the studio. Today there are nearly 70 at a place known for its irreverent, fun and boundary-breaking animation.

Naito, who went to CalArts and comes from a family of artists and haiku poets, knew the studio had to expand when she arrived.

Exclusive: Wheelhouse DNA, Canada’s Frederator Studios and social media comedy star Adam Waheed are joining forces for an animated comedy series.

We hear the unnamed series is now in development ahead of production, marking the first partnership between Wheelhouse DNA and Frederator and series writing and starring debut for Waheed, who’s better known as Adam W.

Set in ancient Egypt where the gods are real, aliens built the pyramids and the afterlife exists, the 10-episode series follows a lovable royal buffoon (Waheed) who finds himself suddenly thrust on the throne.

Waheed co-created the series with Spencer Strasmore, and the pair are now developing a slate of digital, TV and film projects. Strasmore was previously a producer and development exec at Mark Wahlberg and Stephen Levinson’s production company Unrealistic Ideas.

Waheed is one of social media’s biggest comedy stars, with an accumulated 11.5 billion views in 2022 alone.

Actor Drake Bell has been found after being reported missing in Florida on Thursday. The Daytona Beach Police confirmed the news on Facebook on April 13, just hours after their initial missing report: "** Update: 4/13/2023 1:26p.m. - At this time, we can confirm law enforcement officials are in contact and Mr. Bell is safe," the department wrote. Later in the day, on April 13, Bell addressed the incident in a tweet, writing, "You leave your phone in the car and don't answer for the night and this?"

Former child star Drake Bell, who was previously declared “missing and endangered” by Florida police, has been found alive.

Bell, 36, was first reported missing on Thursday morning, when the Daytona Beach Police Department shared on Facebook that the Nickelodeon personality was last seen traveling in a 2022 grey BMW, potentially near Mainland High School, Wednesday night at 9 pm Et.

Update: At 1:26 p.m. Et on Thursday, actor Drake Bell was confirmed to be “safe” and in contact with law enforcement officials, the Daytona Beach Police Department reported.

Bell was originally “considered missing and endangered,” the Daytona Beach Police Department announced in a Facebook post Thursday morning. Police did not provide further information when contacted by Variety, nor did Bell’s manager immediately respond to a request for comment.

Bell addressed his disappearance later on Thursday, writing on Twitter: “You leave your phone in the car and don’t answer for the night and this?” with a laughing emoji.

Update: Police have confirmed that Drake Bell, who was reported missing and considered "endangered" earlier today, has been found safe.

It's still unclear why Bell was considered missing, but new reports indicate that the actor spent a lovely day with his son Jeremy just 24 hours earlier.

Although various sources reached out to the Daytona Police Department for more information, they didn't comment further on Bell's status.

The former Nickelodeon star is said to be "missing and endangered," according to the police.

A Facebook message shared by the Daytona Beach Police Department said that Bell was last seen traveling in a gray BMW.

"Officers are looking for Jared Bell, Dob 06/27/1986. He should be traveling in a 2022 grey BMW and his last known location is potentially the area of Mainland High School on 4/12/2023 just before 9p.m," the post reads. 

"He is considered missing and endangered.
