This is a fairly eerie Hong Kong ghost comedy, where a doctor named Care Quan (Ching Wan Lau) falls in love with a patient of his named Faith (Athena Chu). However, he was not aware that he stepped into a paranormal world and a criminal organization all surrounding Faith.
It's a steady-paced film with some neat supernatural elements mixed in with a crime syndicate that later results in a ghost-takes-revenge plot. The subplot of Care Quan and Faith's relationship was intertwined in the plot fairly well, but tended to drag the pacing somewhat. The humor I thought was forced at times, especially Emotion Cheung's parody of a Hong Kong magnate, but Simon Lui, who plays Master Gong, delivered some humorous dialog. I enjoyed his interaction with the ghosts.
The ghost scenes were entertaining and had some nice creepiness factors, including the scenes where the ghosts chase down the criminals; I just wished there were more ghost vs. bad guys action and that the revenge angle was more elaborate.
Overall, it's a pretty well-made ghost comedy that relies a lot on the eeriness, drama and dialog elements, rather than screwball comedy.
