Following the overwhelming negative reception the N64 version received, Titus completely redesigned Superman for the PlayStation. However, due to the expiration of its Warner Bros. license, Titus was unable to release the PlayStation version, resulting in its cancellation in 2000. This version was eventually released online in the late 2010s, though not officially.
Eric Caen blames Warner Bros. on the game's poor quality, stating Warner Bros. micromanaged the entire production process and license of every single character in the Superman universe. Caen also feels Warner might have been self-sabotaging Titus's work to let the license lapse in hopes to give it to a high profile publisher such as Electronic Arts (EA) who likely would have paid out more for the license.
Considered by many to be the worst video game ever made.
While the official title is "Superman", this game is more commonly referred to as "Superman64". This is likely due to Nintendo's marketing strategy of placing '64' in the title of many of its games on the N64 Console.
In the cancelled PlayStation version of the game, the unpopular stages where Superman has to fly through rings have been omitted. Though development for the PlayStation game was abandoned after being only 75% complete, clips of this game's version can be found in video-sharing sites.
