Excellent But Underrated Cartoon Series
I loved not only the Puppy series, but the specials that aired beforehand. Stories centered around Petey the Pup and his pack of canine companions embarking on various adventures around the world. While traditional slapstick cartoon sight gags were absent in the Puppy series...the show delivered entertainment through strong story lines, appealing characters, regularly changing background locations, and solid animation. While the show indeed held the attention of very young viewers....it appears that the intended audience was for kids who could follow a more detailed storyline. This in turn made it attractive for adults to watch. Like what was said in another review, "The Puppy's Further Adventures" was a more "relaxing" cartoon series...but one that could indeed hold the interest of any viewer. 10 out of 10.
