Featured review
I have seen early material on this program, and all I can say is, it promises to be one of the most unique and funny programs to hit the airwaves in years. It's directed by Frank Oz and written by two guys from the Simpsons and is sort of a wacky cross between "The Addams Family" and "The Waltons." It's kind of like a live-action Simpsons in a way. It's about a weird family -- not monsters like the Addamses, but just plain weird. They're really close and live by old-fashioned family values but they don't take any crap from anybody. In the pilot, the whole family goes along to help the oldest son retrieve his stolen skateboard. It's loaded with physical comedy and sight gags and promises to be unlike any of the dry, boring shows currently clogging up the TV. I think it could easily become a phenomenon and people could be walking around with Funkhousers T-shirts and lunchboxes before you know it.
