Yang cheng qi yu ji

The literal translation of the title of this movie is: Serendipity at the City of Goats.

There is some explanation needed: the City of Goats is Guang-zhou, the provincial capital of Canton Province in Southern China. The reason the city was called the City of Goats is because the symbol of the city is five goats, hence the name the City of the Five Goats. City of Goats is the short for the City of the Five Goats. A statue of five goats was in downtown of the city.

The second thing needs to be explained is that during the early stage of the reform, Canton was one of first regions benefited due to its close proximity with Hong Kong (geographically, linguistically, and culturally). The serendipity of those from places that were slow to embrace reform in the city that was first to do so was used to advocate reforms.
