This movie is a political propaganda of the new era. On the surface, there is nothing bad about this movie for that it urges criminals to turn themselves in and a reformed ex-criminal could still earn the love and respect from others.

However, in reality, the life of the ex-criminals are far from what is depicted in this movie. In a society with massive unemployment, the opportunity even for those who never committed any crime is slim, not mentioning those with dark spot on their history. Although the movie is based on the true story that really happened in real life, for most of the time, things are not as bright as depicted, so this movie cannot be viewed as a general representation.
