The First Hollywood movie to have its premiere in Fiji.
Within the movie it is explained that the bloody orchid blooms every 7 years and the movie passes in 2004, therefore the orchid bloomed in 1997, the year in which the events of the first anaconda occur.
This sequel tries to give an explanation to the previous movie, showing why green anacondas are so gigantic. In the story the blood orchid is present in the food chain allowing them to live longer and therefore grow more.
The film shows Green Anacondas in Borneo. In real life, green anacondas are not bornean species, they are actually endemic to Venezuela, Brazil, Colombia and Peru. In Borneo the closest thing to a green anaconda would be a python.
Nerida Tyson-Chew's score was nominated for Best Soundtrack Album at the 2005 Screen Music Awards (Australia).
