Excellent short film. Ernie is a teenager who lives in his mothers retirement home and is finally getting a chance to escape to camp, where he can befriend those his own age. This film is a slice of life of that last day at the retirement home before camp and the trials and responsibilities Ernie has to face. The result is an endearing coming of age story, with moments of sadness and drama, but also humour and fun. Solidly entertaining in all respects.
Gorgeous cinematography and a moving performance by Salem Ludwig.
An impressive debut from director Charles Wachter, who according to IMDb trivia, has won some much deserved recognition for this film.
