This is not great cinema - and it's not an "important" film - but somehow it was pretty nice, a pleasant watch - Danson & Steenburgen gave their characters some interesting unexpected nuances - the music was kind of horribly banal, but the scenery was gorgeous. All-in-all, quite OK.
When Ted Danson(George),"Mumford",'99, and Mary Steenburgen(Clem),"Elf",'03, get together as husband and wife in real life and on the SCREEN!, sparks fly and you see a great combination of excellent acting at its very best. George & Clem decided to work out divorce problems with their "DIVORCE CAMPER", where they decided to split up their property between themselves without a lawyer and also find out personal things about each other and at the same time find time to make love and keep warm at the same time. Great Comedy/Drama with all kinds of surprises at the END! If you love Ted Danson,"Cheers" and his wonderful wife Mary, don't miss this TV FILM!!!
I enjoyed this movie. It made for a nice Valentine's Day movie. Ted Danson (George) and Mary Steenburgen (Clem) were excellent in their respective roles as a man and wife on the verge of working out a simple and amicable divorce that unfortunately got a bit more complicated than they bargained for.
The acting was smooth, the script was thoughtful, and there was just something that seemed so believable about the whole story (could it be that the two leads are actually husband and wife in real life?? Nah...) I also liked the way they depicted them being stranded, in their camper, in a freak snowstorm out in the wilds of Maine. It was convincingly done (at least as much as can be expected for a made-for-TV movie), and you couldn't help finding yourself caring about the individual fates of the characters involved.
The supporting characters (namely Joe and Tess who played the son and daughter of this couple, plus the women who played the grandmothers) were excellent, and I really liked the rather quirky side-stories going on with the kids - the daughter, for example, freaked out on the very first night of her honeymoon, and decided to ditch the marriage right on the spot!
I also couldn't help but notice that there were some excellent songs added to the movie as well. All in all a very nicely done made-for-TV movie, rightfully shown around Valentine's Day. Hopefully they'll show it again sometime so if anybody missed it, they can get a chance to see it.

This was such a great movie. I was flipping channels and could not leave the station from the beginning to the end of this movie. I really enjoyed knowing that Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen are married outside of the show itself. They have great chemistry together on- screen which is not always the case with married actors! The story does not have the ending that all the other married/talk about divorce/ make-up/happy-ending/ romance movies have. I think it is worth watching for anyone who just wants a feel good movie! I hope to see them in another movie together.
