In this Spanish variety show which played in the 80s, Rosa Maria Sarda was like the Catalan/Spanish version of Carol Burnett. Mostly sketches with some music and, of course, guest stars.
Recently, she's been playing more dramatic roles in movies, but this was the first time I'd seen her, and her show was great. Funny, irreverent, and some great political sketches, especially about topics like Spain joining the European common market. It would be great to see someone write a farce or slapstick vehicle for her.
Interesting, too because she represents a period of Spanish history, just post-Franco, particularly as a Catalan artist.
I'd love to see some of these again!
