The above reviews both state that this is not available on DVD but I have had this on "The Official Selections: Featuring the Best Short Films from the Sundance Film Festival (2003)" for years. It not only contains this wonderful short but several other excellent ones as well. But make no mistake, Mullit is the best of the bunch on this compilation. It is available on Amazon and I'm sure elsewhere.
Mullit is about an everyman version of the type of character Steve Mcqueen might have played, hence the title is an homage to McQueen's Bullitt. Despite the sometimes fantastical characters and events, Earl Lippy is a believable down on his luck, ill fated guy who has a plan to turn things around. Unfortunately nothing seems to go as planned, friendships are tested and somehow Earl keeps getting up every time he's knocked down.
Mullitt is a fun, well directed and acted short that features several names and faces you might recognize.
