Carter's Dad: That and never leave your wallet in your pants in a Tijuana whorehouse 'cause I tell ya those little Mexican putas have sticky little fingers.

I was in a record store the other day trying to replace my scratched copy of 'Exile on Main Street' (nothing buy vinyl for yours truly) and the two locals at the counter would not stop going on and on about this 'Knuckle Sandwich' movie. He apparently went to boarding school in Charlotte with a guy who now works for a production company in LA--said everybody out there was talking about this thing.
He had gotten an advance copy from the LA guy and let me borrow a copy because i live in the same apt complex.
NOW I KNOW WHY THEY'RE ALL TALKING ABOUT IT.
It's a really well written independent film that has solid dialogue. you've got over the top funny movies like Dumb and Dumber (which i like, don't get me wrong), but then have you have those cool, "clever" flicks that kind of develop a cult-like following.
I think this one has the best of both. "Bottle Rocket/Rushmore"-esque intelligent, cool writing with a few, effective doses of "Chevy Chase when he did hard drugs" physical comedy. Perfect. Just about every major character in here is a drunken idiot and it works.
Oh yeah, BROOKE BURKE and MORGAN FAIRCHILD are in it. God, they are ridiculous.
I read somewhere that it is starting to make the film festival circuit. Should be in the Vegas one around the end of July.
See this damn thing. The guys who wrote this twisted thing have got to have a few more scripts up their sleeve.
Buy a case of extraordinarily cheap brew and enjoy.
