As train leaves, two soldiers are side by side; as the mother is running, there is only one soldier.
When Jin-tae fights the North Korean captain, the car behind them alternates between being on fire and not being on fire.
In the scene where North Korean soldiers ambush Jin Tae and several other South Korean soldiers while they're laying mines, one of the South Koreans steps on a mine and it blows his leg off. However, the M15 Anti-tank mine, which was the mine they were using, requires a force of 350 to 750 lbs to detonate.
During the 1951 Daejon hospital scene, the chevrons on a U.S. Army soldier's uniform sleeve are upside down; the pointy end should be facing up to the top and not the bottom.
In the final battle, there is a tank crewman firing a .50 caliber machine gun mounted atop his tank. The tank's main gun is, however, held by the tank's 'travel lock.' In a battle, tanks would always unstow their guns so that they may be used. The .50 machine gun is also not truly being fired, in spite of the prominent muzzle flashes; the ammunition in the attached ammunition box does not move save for a brief moment during the first seconds of the shot, and no smoke is emanating from the gun.
During the South Korean celebration after their victory in the recent battle. They are informed that UN Forces had successfully landed at Incheon. While the soldiers yell with joy and celebrate waves of jet fighters fly overhead. They are clearly seen with the swept-wing design of the US F-86 Sabre, a famous Korean War-era fighter jet. However, the F-86 was not sent to Korea until December 1950. The landing at Incheon took place in September 1950.
The attacking American F4U Corsairs seem too small when they are seen during the initial bombing run.
Most of the explosions in the film appear to be of roughly the same size regardless of the source. Due to this, artillery shells and aerial bombs appear to have the same power as a hand grenade.
During one of the scenes in Pyongyang when American tanks are driving through the crowd, a rectangular hole for the driver to look through can be seen in the front hull of an Easy Eight, where it is not located.
When the soldiers massacre some North Korean soldiers in retaliation for their apparent massacre of civilians Jin-Seok, not being able to kill a North Korean officer, fires above his head. He fires 9 times from an 8 round rifle, and the rifle does not eject a spent clip, suggesting that there is at least 1 round still in the rifle.
Subtitles don't match the dubbed dialogue.
In a couple of shots the flags of the UN countries that were involved in the South Korea side during the war are displayed. The Canadian "Maple Leaf" is visible and also the current South African flag. The Canadian flag was changed in 1965 from the Canadian Red Ensign to the present design and South Africa changed its flag from the tricolor (orange, white and blue) to the present design after 1994, so both flags displayed are incorrect.
When Jin-tae brings Jin-seok a Hershey bar, the nutritional information on the back (not required until the 1990s) can clearly be seen. Not only that - it's a king-size Hershey bar, which wasn't introduced until 1980.
When Jin-Tae receives his medal after the Americans arrive, modern 50 star American flags are shown. In the early 50's the flag still would have been 48 stars. It wasn't until 1959 that the current 50 star flag was introduced.
In the press briefing scene, a post-1978 Greek flag can be seen. The Greek flag in the 1950s was of a different design.
A modern Canadian flag can be seen at the Military Hospital in Daejun among a group of other flags. The scene in the movie is dated July 1951, but the modern Canadian flag was introduced in 1965.
In the scene where the South Koreans are retreating from the Chinese, one of the POWs takes a pistol from an injured soldier, shooting him twice. When he shoots the soldier a second time, the sound of the gunshot is out of sync with the slide kicking back (Just before it shows the soldier getting shot, you can clearly see the slide is back, but the gunshot is heard a few seconds later).
A massive assault force of hundreds of South Korean soldiers, well-supported by aircraft, artillery and armor, is easily defeated by a numerically inferior North Korean force without any support of its own.
Near the end, when Jin-Seok spots Jin-Tae fighting as a North Korean, Jin-Tae is clearly seen with a helmet on but when Jin-Tae and Jin-Seok are fighting, Jin-Tae is wearing a military cap.
